I like how multiple plots in season 1 touched on plots in season 2 and 3. Season 1 we had a newlywed woman who was struggling with the knowledge that she's expected to be a trophy wife. Only for her to decide in the end that she'll commit to being one. And then in Season 2 we have a fully committed trophy wife who has her own affairs to live with herself. And in Season 1 we had Connie Briton's character who was championing white men as being the new disadvantaged. And here we have Season 3 where we are seriously sympathizing with a classic bread winner with suicidal/family annihilator ideation because he committed "white collar" crimes.

Also it's crazy how Saxton gives creeper vibes this entire season, but when creepy stuff actually happens he's the only one involved who is legitimately grossed out about it.

Loooove rewatching this season with you girlies! It was so fun watching it air live. Every single week people were waiting for that incest Chekhov's gun to go off and then it finally did and people lost their minds lmao. Can't wait for the new season, the cast is already so interesting

There's no question that Saxon is irredeemably loathsome, but to be clear... the incestuous acts have all been initiated by Lochlan. I think the natural assumption is that the older sibling bears more responsibility for this, but it was Lochlan who moved in to kiss Saxon, and it was Lochlan who was jerking off his brother, not the other way around. Saxon has been completely passive in all of this, at least based on what we've actually seen. We want to like the character Lochlan because he seems like a gentle kind innocent soul and Saxon's just a huge disgusting douchebag, but Saxon seems a lot more mortified by what happened than Lochlan. Lochlan seems to be the one who is sort of into it.

In all honesty id prefer longer intros from ya'll, its nice to hear you preview how your feeling about the show, going into the show, and then a little review at the end. I get dissapointed on reactions where you guys barely talk outside of w/e it is your watching <3

As a fellow oldest brother of three, Saxon genuinely fills me with seething rage. He’s essentially been grooming his siblings and wants to act shocked when something happens. Only hoping nothing but the worst for him.

You have to keep in mind that Saxon has (unintentionally) been grooming Lochlan. Sexual predators typically introduce pornography to their victims and normalize sexual behavior. In the beginning of the season he's masturbating and sleeping naked in the same room as Lochlan. When Lochlan looks over at Saxon sleeping it's a really uncomfortable moment. We know what Saxon is doing is fucked up. It's abuse. The way he talks about his sister is borderline incestuous. There's a bit of irony when the scene from early is mirrored and Saxon wakes up beside Lochlan sleeping naked. Now he's been sexually assaulted and he created his abuser. He forced his brother to become him.

He has this persona he created that probably works in his circle of gym bros and finance bros but this is the first time he's taken it out into the real world. By the end of this episode it's shattered.

well, after seeing the whole season, Saxon ended up being my favourite character of the season. not because he's a particularly righteous person - he is not - but because he went through a really traumatic experience (partly of his own making, for sure!) and went out the other end not completely broken but willing to grow and change instead. he's really the silver lining of the season, I think, more than anyone else. I was myself in a very similar situation to his once and I know how traumatising it can be. and while I absolutely think his approach to his siblings was wrong and he normalised some problematic behaviours, his absolute disgust is my favourite part of the show - it's raw, and it's real, and it's very, very human. and btw, this started out like an obvious incest plotline and ended up being absolutely NOT that and I love this! we have plenty of incest in recent tv, but people pleasing to the point of incest? that was new and refreshing lol
