Diegesis

It is and honestly really good!

Athasin

YES!!! THANK YOU!!! This movie has easily knocked out E.T. as my favorite alien movie.

Athasin

Yep it came out in March and is still in theaters because it's just that good.

More things about this movie: - It's made by the same guy who made The Martian - The ship Hail Mary was full of (Ryland) Grace - Rocky was waiting there for 46 years before Grace finally showed up - Commander Yao was right, Grace didn't have a brave gene, no one does, he just needed someone to be brave for, and that someone was Rocky

JC

Please do The Martian!

This movie lived up to the hype. Now I'm curious to read the book.

Jean-Marc Hamel

Wow hadn't noticed the first time that commander Yao was the sarcastic Miles from Lost. Yeah the book is a great read and mostly expands on everything in the movie. Also you guys should do Close Encounters OF The Third Kind since a whole sequence was an homage to it which was both cool and funny.

So Fantastic, i didnt want to believe the hype. So happy i was proven wrong

Great movie and great reaction! It's funny you guys asked about if Rocky is a life form that doesn't need water. They don't mention it in the movie, but in the book they talk about how that's something Grace asks, but Eridians actually do have water in them. It's very high temp and high pressure water which Rocky uses to move his limbs, like hydraulics. And Grace is even more defeated bc his idea is still wrong lmao

For new Movies id definitely recommend "Weapons" (its not some war movie)

PopeScooby

Ariana you should read the book. The movie is great, but, like any time a book is translated into film, a lot had to be cut out to make it work. I think the book would really expand on the movie experience.

BigSlice

Project Hail Mary and The Princess Bride are my two favorite book+movie combos to recommend. It doesn't matter if you saw the movie or read the book first; the film adaptations do a brilliant job of capturing the most important themes, plot points, and sensibility of their books. But they also make huge departures when it's *wise* to do so. When something would only work on the page, the respective films replace it with something that only works on film. They use the limitations and opportunities of their media perfectly.

Yeah I walked out of the theater after that one going "Best sci fi I've seen in probably over a decade."

Sankis

Grace going on to become a teacher of Eridian children is just the absolute best and cutest ending they could have created. I'm glad the movie made it more of a happy ending. The book ending was a bit less fun.

Pyt

The emotional whiplash this movie does for the last 40ish minutes lol
