"The fundamental question is, will I be as effective as a boss like my dad was. And I will be, even more so...But until I am, it's going to be hard to verify that I think I'll be more effective"

What is this, THE FUCKING UN NOW??

Hmm I don't know guys, I know Finn isn't like the best, he's indecisive and that's frustrating, but Meadow was downright infuriating in this episode. She was constantly downplaying his legitimate concerns about her extended mob family and making weird, pseudo-intellectualized excuses for them. "The poverty of the Mezzogiorno" like come on Meadow, stfu, talk about pompous, they're fat fucking crooks from New Jersey. Yeah, Finn embodies that condescending, annoying SJW trope, but so does Meadow, obviously, that's what she's always been. (It's also what I generally dislike about the writing of her character, it's in Meadow and AJ where I most clearly see David Chase's own biases because he seems incapable of writing younger characters without making them the epitomai of insufferable, spoiled millenials.) And she was basically gaslighting him about the legitimate danger these guys pose, like Eugene Pontecorvo and Vito Spatafore haven't definitely killed people before. And that dumb extended argument about the suitcase, fr Meadow, let it go, he was clearly panicked about Vito, and for good reason. Anyway, there was no abundant intentionality in me writing this comment.

This is why Little Carmine is one of my favorite characters.

Alright, but you gotta get over it

I can't believe someone can watch that scene and conclude that Finn was the bad guy in that conflict. I'm SHOOK! 😂

Christophe

Well, at the risk of offering a critical opinion, I often feel the girls, especially Arianna, are generally somewhat biased towards the female characters and against the male characters in relationships when there's conflict. I think more often than not, they're right in identifying the problems in the men's behavior but they tend to downplay the women's flaws. Arianna also often seems to get personally triggered and wound up by often objectively fairly harmless, if flawed, actions by some male characters. Which might be due to some personal experience, in which case, fair enough, we're all biased by our personal experiences. But no matter the reason, I still feel it is a general bias.

You ain't wrong. Meadow was pulling a Tony this episode and not a peep said about it like when Tony acts the same way. Also, Tony wasn't wrong about Carmela in this episode..... Carmela has a real nasty habbit of acting like she's above Tony's lifestyle when she does nothing but egregiously benefit off of it and feels entitled to it. I hate to be that guy but, wtf does Carmela do exactly? Like seriously.....

Dani

okay Male

Adon Delgado

“I think I’m gonna cry” from Carmela as she looks at Tony and laments what could be in store for her little girl and Meadow taking it as her being happy for her. Absolute peak television.

Christophe

Yeah well @Hank let's not go down this route because Carmela does do a lot. Like almost all housewives, her labor goes underappreciated, but she's constantly cooking, looking after their kids, caring for Tony's clothes etc etc. Yes she has help from a maid but still. And it's not like Tony's constantly grinding away when he's hanging out at the stripclub or Satriale's or wherever. He has a lot of downtime when he tells Carmela he's "at work". It's clearly true that Carmela has a tendency towards hipocrisy but I think she works at least as much as Tony.

Hank Scorpio

And that entitles her (she literally used the word entitled in this episode) to the mansion that Tony paid for and all the belongings in the mansion that, again, Tony paid for......? Can we stop pretending Carmela is some victim in this whole situation just because Tony's Tony?

Hank Scorpio

Underappreciated? By what metric? Look at the life she lives....

Legitimate danger they posed? Finn is the civilian boyfriend of the big boss's daughter, he was the most protected guy on that entire job site. Meadow was right, none of those guy's were ever gonna touch him.
