i think you guys are spot on about bear. somebody pointed out: when he swallows those pills, right before sara cracks her wish, he is actually trying to make himself throw up to "Undo" his self sacrifice but her making the wish stops him in his tracks so we can add that to the long list of his selfish moves

When Bear went to "pound town" that confirmed villain status to me. If someone you care about or love, friend or more is acting mentally unwell your first act shouldn't be to fuck them.

Ugh, I hated that movie. That main character was awful. The dead cat shrine should've been enough to let him know she wasn't in her right mind. And then trying to feed him the dead cat? No. NO! He was STILL trying to make it work!!

This movie is great, but man do I hate this movie. Scratch that, I hate the people who's take is, "Bear isn't a villain, he just made a wish and things got out of hand" He made an IMMORAL wish, yes wishing someone loves you when you know they don't (and of course you know they don't otherwise you wouldn't have wished for it) is IMMORAL. Doesn't matter if you don't believe wishes are true. Thoughts *can* be immoral. If you wish that slavery was legal, whether you think wishes are true or not THAT is immoral. Them: But millions of people have made a wish like that. Me: So? Millions of people thought slavery was okay at one point in time just because a lot of people believe something is okay, doesn't actually make it okay. At the end of the day, he is a bad person for making the wish and a straight villain for not doing everything he could to take care of her after making the wish (because keep in mind she only went crazy when he didn't even pretend to reciprocate her love). Oh and he's a rapist. So straight, irredeemable pos. **End of rant** Great movie though. Hope the next movie from Curry Barker isn't incel horror though so I can actually enjoy the discourse around it.

Best horror movie of the year! Caught it three times in the theater and loved every second of it every time. Inde Navarrette is a star and Curry Barker has an incredible feature filmmaking future ahead of him. I can’t wait for his vision for The Texas Chainsaw Massacre! Your reactions did not disappoint.

I saw a really fun theory that the shop girl and the shop guy were the same person. That she made a wish to be a man, so they are perfectly happy now. I will say the two actors have an oddly similar vibe and mannerisms. It could be totally nonsense but I like that idea and it could totally work for the story. Curry Barker did say in interviews that the wishes dont need to go poorly, its really just about the nature of the wish whether it pans out well or not.

that was such a good watch! like my 8th time watching it. i love how it makes us feel for bear then loathe him later. soo many reaction channels jump straight to wanting bear to unalive himself... like cmon. the movie would be 20 min long. great reaction. i do hope theres a wishing willow movie series featuring one terribly horrifying scenario after another.

They are the first ones I've seen have the same reaction I had when Nikki at the start of the movie asks Bear if he likes her. Like hard parts over, cover is blown, just say yes and deal with the fallout now. Nope, coward, and a coward to his final moments when he was trying to force himself to vomit the pills back up. Fuck Bear from the very start, fucking little chicken shit. Great job by making me hate a character so much. Inde Navarrette has that Jim Carrey rubber face gene, so many great faces she was able to pull off during this. Very curious where she goes from here because this has to be one of the best performances I've seen in along time.

You know what I want to talk about instead of Bear's villain status? The fact that wish Nikki moves like a cat most of the time. Or how Bear claimed to love this girl was SEVEN YEARS and didn't know anything about her. He decided she wouldn't want a necklace that she just lost but would instead want a wish. He didn't know that her and her dad don't talk even though both Ian and Sarah knew this. Or about why exactly wish Nikki did morbid things out of love.

Just to clarify something,, no, Bear didn't have to go back and ask Nikki to revoke the wish. He just suggested it as an option, but anyone could make that wish. And lets be real, that Nikki was never going to make that wish. I mean we saw firsthand what she did with it lol. Bear is a piece of shit, but hats why he went to Ian first because it was his best option.

He didn't have to ask nikki to make that wish anyone could have done it and when he asked Ian he told him to wish that bear never made a wish wish. Nikki would have never made that wish as we see several times she knows what he wished for so she would never do that unless you get real nikki in control for enough time. He also tried at the end when he went home to get her to do the wish but she was acting crazy. She was always gonna wish for him to love her so going to Ian was the first right move bear did but ian was just selfish.

I'm so glad you guys finally have seen it. It is an incredible movie, everything about it is incredible. The unknown actors that performed like A list actors especially Inde Navarette, Curry Barker a youtuber made a movie for 750k that grossed 400 million or even more like holy shit. Movie of the year for me 100%. The premise the movie THE SOUND DESIGN. Insane. The movie was shot in 2024 and the lead star Inde couldn't get any roles and she streamed on twitch being amazing at Call of Duty like this is such a insane story around this movie and it's actors. Curry already made another movie that didn't release yet and he's about to make another one. I hope he keeps making bangers especially with unknown actors.

Just wanted to say that the one wish willow box has guidelines on the back, and so it can’t make wishes that reverse time/time travel, immortality, or bringing back someone from the dead. Even if Bear had gotten someone to do his second wish, it wouldn’t have worked because he was trying to alter time by saying “I wish Bear had never made that wish.” I think that’s why the internet forum had people whose wishes didn’t come true. They tried to make wishes that went against the rules or were too outrageous.

Yeah that hard cut from "Why does it matter? It doesn't for me..." to them doing it or rather him doing her was just like the most obvious answer that he's a horrible human being that just wanted to make himself happy with another person instead of actually loving and wanting to be with that person because of what kind of person she is. He just wanted to make himself happy by all means necessary.
