I think the dad rock Arianna is thinking of is the Chad Kroeger and Josey Scott song "Hero" from the Spider-Man soundtrack. It had a music video that got played a shitload on VH1 and it had clips from Spider-Man in it. Those are the singers from Nickelback and Saliva.

When Arianna mentions stuff like the Spider-Man cartoon, which I watched and love too. Just the stuff she says about growing up makes me feel we almost had the same childhood. Not just the shows she watched but other stuff too.

Toby McGuire had a back injury before filming this movie, i think from seabiscuit, and there was some drama that he might not be able to handle this movie and the stunts, so they briefly floated having Jake Gyllenhall take over as Spiderman. That's where the "my back" part is kinda a meta joke thru the spiderman movies is from, also kinda a meta joke with having jake gyllenhaal in a spiderman movie w tom.
