Ok, I gotta admit that I'm annoyed that the drifter guy is Jonas, for the simple fact that the actors have completely different eye colors. For a show that is otherwise fixated on casting as accurately as possible across ages, it feels like they intentionally broke their own rules to throw the audience off. I guess it's possible they'll try to explain that discrepancy in a future season, but it felt wrong. I was sure that Noah was Jonas for the same reasons.

I had to subscribe to netflix for this show. Normally I wouldn't I have been off of netflix for years but the piracy sites only have Dark with the English dub which drove me crazy after only a few moments.

One person who I saw react to this show drew a big family tree and updated it every episode with photos of the character from each time period and lines showing how everyone in the town was connected.

God I love this show. Such a satisfying rewatch with you throughout this season. Season 2 stamped it as an all timer for me. Looking forward to it.

It feels very intentional for that reason you mentioned, although if you look up Andreas (older jonas) when he was young, other than the eye color it's pretty close. He is also always dirty and has a look of "I've seen some shit" so the darker hair and eye color could just be character design

just a heads up, sometimes Netflix at the start of season 2 will for some reason switch the subtitles from "English" to "English CC". Please for the love of god make sure you are not on the "English CC" ones. It is transcribing what the dialogue is for the English dub, and the translation actually gets several things like horribly wrong to the point of giving you info that's not correct.

Sorry, but it's perfectly natural for a person's eye color to change over time. It doesn't happen often, but it's known to happen.

Just gonna say EVERYTHING IN THIS SHOW GETS ANSWERED AND THERE IS SO MUCH THAT Y’ALL DONT KNOW YET. The great thing is that the reveals are worth it and what’s cool is that they give you time to theorize and the storyline actually goes somewhere. Season 2 is great . Alles ist mitenainder verbunden

What's funny is watching this episode I thought the same thing about Middle Aged Helge and Older Helge with regards to their nose, lol. But honestly i'm just super impressed they get as close as they do with some of the casting. It's impressive, even if sometimes you have to ignore small things like that, bc let's be real, expecting that level of precision for this many characters would be unrealistic today. (probably possible with AI and CGI adjustments in the not so distant future).

Season 2 is like the writers said, "ok they were all confused in season 1, which is what we wanted. We could keep the same level of confusion....or we could kick it up a notch."

I've seen this brought up on the Dark subreddit and it's always explained away by the excuse that radiation exposure can change your eye color. Even though that's not actually true, apparently there was a popular urban legend about someone at Chernobyl who's eyes allegedly changed from brown to blue after the accident.

Yeah, I didn't mean this as a major criticism. I was just not in love with this particular reveal. People lose their minds over this show's casting, so I think it's entirely fair to focus on that aspect, when talking about story and character choices.

@Matt S I don't know about *radiation* being able to change your eye colour. But what is established is that one's eye colour can change with age. Mine did. I don't believe it's particularly common, but it absolutely happens.
