When Troy said "I heard the Dean got free taco meat from the Army" it was a callback to the last halloween episode, where they all got sick and turned to Zombies. Noöne remembers it was due to the meat the Dean got for the party, because the army roofied them.

I don't know how they got John Goodman, but I can't imagine anyone more perfect as the all-powerful overlord of the secret air conditioner repairman conspiracy. And Jeff got to talk a guy to death, every lawyer's dream. And it's so wild how much they learn about how they each look at themselves and each other when they take the opportunity to tell a little spooky story as an excuse to launch into their purest wish fulfillment fantasies. (Except Jeff who wishes only for everyone to listen to him and chill out, and Abed who cares more about storytelling craft.) Fun little detail where Shirley's story has them play music on the radio throughout, so it's plausible they catch the breaking news. She listened to Abed's critique of the Coincidental Broadcast trope!
