YEAAAH!! TO ME, MY DIE - PPL

Michael

"It's October 3rd." I thought it might be Mean Girls today. lol - After watching reaction... You guys should rewatch the original cartoon or just the current seasons of X-Men '97 so good! -- Farscape Season 3 finale I was so in synch with a character. We said the exact same line at the same time (last line of the season).

Forgetting Sarah Marshall Please!!!

Maaaan, I first heard about this movie from an excerpt from a magazine. Little me carried that magazine everywhere and reread it everyday and rewatched the trailer 309503 times when it dropped lol. I watched it with my siblings in theaters and loved it. Parts of the movie havent aged well but it will always hold a special place in my heart.

Athasin

Man I hope Arianna show Maple "True Blood" some day

Athasin

Hugh Jackson is Wolverine in all the movies and there is a running joke that they're gonna make him play the role until he's 90 (pretty sure Ryan Reynolds made the joke in a Deadpool movie). That includes the prequels since Wolverine is basically immortal and they didn't need a younger him for it.

Joe Blankenship

As these movies go along, don't get too caught up in the continuity and stuff. It gets messy, but it's manageable. It was much less organized in the pre-MCU days.

Athasin

Oh my god I'm watching Degrassi Next Gen over again recently and I completely forgot Rogue's boyfriend was Dean (iykyk). That was cathartic.

Alexis

After just playing Wolverine on PS5 I was very excited to see this today

Athasin

Also, X2 is my favorite

David Arroyo

They need to watch Xmen97!!!

Joe Blankenship

Yall should definitely watch X-Men '97 for the channel. It works as its own standalone thing.

Joshua Luzania

I think yall missed seeing Stan Lee on the beach when the senator was walkin up.

Alexis

Yeah unfortunately these versions, while fine for a fun non serious film, fall way short of their animated versions. Rogue especially

ZitherManifesto

THe actress who plays Rogue in this movie, is the main Character in the show true Blood if you guys wants a Vampire show thats fun

ZitherManifesto

THe only reason i can come up with Maple saying the Storm line is that it was a pretty famous gif/ Meme at some point. But still, Fantastic made me laugh hard when she said it

Kevin Landon

I honestly haven't even thought about Degrassi in sooo long, lol, Drake's come up. I might have to revisit

X-Men 97 is meant to be a continuation of the 90’s Fox cartoon. The art style is dramatically better (the old cartoon was fugly). Ray Park who plays Toad also plays Darth Maul in Star Wars: The Phantom Menace. Great reaction as always!

Ok, gonna nerd out a little. When I was a pup, X-men were my fave, and Wolvie was my favorite "hero". Now Initially I didn't like Super hero comic books...I thought they were stupid. I liked comics, but Fantasy or Sci-Fi...or Horror. I read Conan, Kull, Kazar, Warlord (introduced to it by my mom, as she liked those books... I think she really like Red Sonya, but I know Storm was her favorite. There WAS a derth of strong female heroes tbh...) But mainly titles like Dr. Strange, Rom Spaceknight, The Micronauts, Star Wars. But these were all super heroes in their own way, I just hadn't really realized it yet. I also read Warren Magazines like Creepy and Erie...and Famous Monsters. The prior were usually anthology horror stories....lot's of T&A tbh... It's unfortunate that I never got into Heavy Metal, 'cause it was right up my alley.... Famous monster was a magazine, and the closest thing to the internet in those days. It was like previews and behind the scenes and interviews....FX....just some cool stuff. I was happy, then one night I spent the night at my friend's house. Reading his comic books. I stumbled onto X-men #98. THE X-men #98. I was enthralled. Cyclops, Storm, Nightcrawler, Colossus, Banshee, Angel, Wolverine, I think Jean Grey was there, but I don't think she was an X-man anymore. My mind was reeling trying to keep up with the characters and their powers. It was the first time that Wolverine used his claws with no costume. (originally his claws were a part of his gloves.) Later they were said to be in bionic housing in his forearms, not a part of his original powers, which was later retcon'd into him having bone claws prior to the adamantium ones.... That comic was already a couple of years old, I was gonna steal it...from my friend... I couldn't do it though....but I later found out that thin was like worth $150 back then.... But later I told my mom, I wanted to get a subscription,'cause I'd never seen this "X-Men" comic before. I used to just buy em at gas stations or 7-11's....maybe K-Mart... But I hated that I could never find anything...sequential.... My mom said,"Well, why don't you just go to the comic book store??" She said it so nonchalant. I was aghast. What? There is a comic book stor4? HERE?!!?!? In This town?!?!? This cursed town!??!?! She said, "ya. I'll take you there. I though you knew..." I knew the truth though. instantly.... As if she would ever have mentioned it, we wouldn't be there every weekend.... Nicely played mom... Comic fast food and pizza.....as if i ever would have dug any of THAT as a child... The jacked up thing is...It was Mile High Comics. Which was in the centerfold of every Marvel title I'd ever read. I'd noticed it, but I refused to torture myself, *I* knew that Denver was the Mile high city....not my podunk like mountain town... But there it was... But I DID get to go there and my first X-men were #151 and Kingsize X-men #5. And I collected comics for a few years, and even continued buy then off sporadically into the early 90's. My White Whales.... Uncanny X-Men #98, The Millenium Falcon, and the Thunderfury.... WEll Call me Mr. Digression... This is not what I was wanting to blather about.... Or maybe it was... Gonna start ovah....

Would love to see you guys react to x men 97 sometime

Vet-San

Ok nobody read that other post.... This one is actually about the X-men. There was a point in time when if you wanted to make a commentary on racism and segregation, it had to be done in metaphor. So you end up with things like The Twilight Zone and yes...the Uncanny X-men. Mutants being an easy explanation for super powered individuals, but also a minority class and was set upon by prejudice and fear and hatred. The two sides of a Jungian dichotomy being Professor X and Magneto. Each loosely based on Martin Luther King Jr. and Malcolm X. One wanting safety and inclusion via peace and understanding. and the other by any means necessary.

Villains In Orbit

I cant believe Maple called the Halle Berry line lol

Joao

TinCan Cosmanaut

Fun fact They wanted Russell Crowe (Gladiator) to play Wolverine. He told them I know another Australian guy you might like. A relatively unknown actor at the time. Our good friend Hugh

Luckily we factor in variety for movies and what not! We really want to build up to deadpool!

You two should totally check out Sweeney Todd now that it's November. I think you'll both get a kick out of it.
