Return of the King Full Reaction

Comments

Stephen

oh sweet girl cried for nearly an hour straight. bless you

Garrett Serbin

These movies are so good they literally drain you. I've seen them every year since I was 13 & every time I grin ear to ear & ruin a couple tissues as well. Hope it wasn't too much for you though & a rewatch will make you appreciate everything even more!

Sir_Dalagad

Been waiting for this one ;-)

Cregg Riley

i cried with ya. did you watch the credits? the song and artistry was quite touching too

Chris Illsley

Amazing reaction! One detail that I always loved is when Gandalf and the eagles go to rescue them. There are 3 eagles 1 was for Sméagol. Gandalf knew he had a part to play in the end and just in case was prepared to rescue him as well.

Sir_Dalagad

Really good reaction. There's so much going on in this one, it's a great ride. Those monologues though.... 😭😭😭 (especially Sam's)

Ian Forbes

Great reaction, we all were there with you (tissues in hand 🥲). Hope you have a Happy New Year and can’t wait for more MCU in the new year!

Native Dude

You know you gotta do the Hobbit trilogy now right?

Travis

Why is the entire movie muted? lol wtf..

Cause it's still uploaded on youtube and to upload the whole movie would be a copyright violation. It's a watch along format. you sync the copy your watching with our video. Like Rifftracks with video.

Logan

This was so great!! Thank you!!

Catherine LW

It’d be helpful to give us time to sync with the film - maybe give us full picture and sound for the first 30 seconds or so?

LordGrailKnight

Always wonderful to see people react to this, its a beautiful thing. From the darkest hour, a future more bright that you could have ever imagined.

Richard Maurer

I joined your Patreon for your LotR reactions and you did not disappoint, Maple. Great reactions to all three movies, although several times during Return of the King I wished I could tell you that everything was going to be all right because you were so upset I was starting to get worried.

I never noticed that. I don't know if that was really the intention, but now that you've described it, I choose to believe that was the plan.

Considering how strongly Maple reacted to the rest of the movies, she never stood a chance. This movie cheated: starting with the very long fade to black with Frodo and Sam sitting on the rock in the lava, the movie had something like five or six distinct endings, each with its own fade to black and emotional roundhouse kick to the nuts. It's like Peter Jackson said to himself, "Damn it, I'm going to make sure every motherfucker in the audience has something to cry about." Well played, Mr. Jackson.
