Your take on the merry scene was valid and I reacted the same way personally, I didn't feel as strong of a connection to the ship but ay I can respect it you know. For me it's definitely not top 10 moments maybe not even top 20, there are so many more hype and emotional moments that beat this for me. I watch the weekly episodes and from the last 10 episodes back from freaking episode 1119 there have been like at least 3 moments I think even top this peak in lore and hype and emotion. (I picked up the show because of you since you started it so thanks for that lucky, I had a lot more time to binge a year ago so I used my free time well to get caught up 😂) I actually liked all 9 moments on the top 10 poll better than #1 but hey at the end of the day, it's just a poll, and definitely don't make it let you think it doesn't get better, because it does! Enies lobby and Robin are my personal favorites still because I'm biased as hell since it was the first arc in this show to make me cry but there is so much more peak to be had, so stay hyped!!

Really? You actually got criticized for the way you react to the Merry thing? I know I said I wasn't shocked at your reaction, but I never thought I implied your reaction was a bad thing. (Heck; I'm one of current One Piece's largest critics lol. I'd be *way* to hypocritical if I said it as a bad thing if someone didn't a scene XD) Regarding Chopper; he's not stupid, he just naive. He takes things at face value; so he looks and goes "This guy wears a mask: Usopp doesn't wear a mask. And he told me his name isn't Usopp; so he can't be Usopp!" Ironically if anything; this actually might make him a better doctor; since he takes things at face value instead of needlessly looking deeper or letting his assumptions take hold, but I can't say for certain. Oh and; just wait 1 more episode to 314. You might change your tone about people killing your editor. (At least for this. People will probably want to kill him for other reasons XD)

Oh so your talking bear 2 and not bear 1 eh? Ironically Bear 1 was the last time I can say a moment really got to me; unlike donut. So honestly I can't really say I have any idea outside the public sphere as to what's going to hit him. Silence and Cooking are the only other main character moments that come to mind as being universally tragic.

Lucky, it's all subjective.. The Merry scene IS top 3... for most people that answered that poll. But your own rating would likely have been very different so if only you took the poll it would not be top 3. And no, it doesn't mean that other scenes are not as good, it simply means that (for the majority) the Merry farewell scene was simply too good for them to put it less, but I can tell you right now in my estimation there are plenty of scenes of the same or higher caliber, where they rate however is entirely up to the individual.

About nami boobs toei likes to exaggerate female parts. You will find it more often as we go on. Some times anime character sizes will be more than what it was drawn in the manga.

Actually I loved what the editor did there with the poll, he gave u some hints so u can speculate and make some theories lol. He's lowkey trying to hype up the show for you and make you kinda waiting to see those moments but ig you were trying not to listen 🤣

Actually when you think about it, it is easy for a writer to write good charector and develop it over time. But merry is a ship. If he doesn't write the concept perfectly, the moment will have no impact. But a lot of people who read or watched the moment felt the sorrow. Feeling so strongly and crying about a boat gives this moment a high place in fandom. When recalling past moments especially.

I read that when one piece was starting to get more popular one editor criticised Oda that his female characters are not attractive compared to other shonen manga. And to do some fan service too. I don't think that is the only reason but he started drawing females more curvy especially Nami

I actually thought your list was backward 😂 Mine would have to be worst -> best as: 1 - 6 - 9 - 2 - 8 - 3 - 7 - 4 - 10 - 5 I like a lot of moments more than some of these and also like some events after for example, I like the events after 8 more than 8 itself and it would be higher you know stuff like that but I guess we both appreciate different things about the show more and that's cool cuz there's so much to value

Bro trust me, this scene isn't even close to being in my top 10 scenes in One Piece (I still like it tho.). There are many, many future scenes you'll enjoy way more.

Ok, so my opinion is basically this: I think a lot of people KNOW that Merry surviving is a BS plot-point, but it's one of the instances where we are (or at least I am) able to overlook how BS that explanation is because of how emotional Merry surviving against all odds is, and I did wish you had overlooked it as well. To be honest, I am a little bit disappointed at how lightly you took the reveal of Going Merry dying, and this entire mini-arc as a whole, but I suppose we had a different level of attachment to him. I guess it's a moot point after 1 year, but I just needed to put these thoughts into writing for my own sake.

The Going Merry def didnt hit me at all like that, im even finding it difficult to understand the emotional connection to an object, even tho they did everything to explain that it has a soul. But it still didnt hit me as much. I am not the one to fake my reactions, if something didnt hit for me, i'll say it. But i do appreciate your input my friend and i understand your POV, or at least i try to!
