Unconditional love doesn't mean you will do anything for someone, it just means that you will love them no matter what If my son is a straight up serial killer or worse, I will still love him if I love him unconditionally, but I can also accept his fate if the government gives him the death penalty and won't break into a prison for him, you know, because he's a serial killer or worse, but I can still love him

Mike G. M.

Funny enough, I have seen a couple of people figure out what happened with Luffy just from that last shot alone. I think you could figure it out were you not too riled up from not being shown everything :P

lucky's prediction at 10:45 would be the big brain move... if he wasn't dragons son.

g27

Lucky said it himself that Garp would only redeem himself to lucky if they showed us that Ace killed 27 million innocent people in front of Garp and enjoyed it, and he’s an unstable psychopath. And Luffy too because he didn’t help him either. I quote [WHY I HATE GARP | One Piece | ] video at (15:03).

AccordingToLucky

Ace wasnt a serial killer tho. Also, uncinditional love doesnt exist if u look at it like that. If that serial killer son stabbed u 29 times and u survived, would u still love him? I doubt it. So there is a condition, dont try and kill me. The argument is flawed. Garp cant claim to love them and yet choose his dumbass job over both of his grandsons.

Krowft

It's not my argument that is flawed. Unconditional love is exactly what it sounds like. If my son stabbed me 29 times and I somehow survived, then if I loved him unconditionally then YES, I would still love him. But love does not require you to become an accessory and hide or excuse someone's crimes. In fact, quite the opposite, if you're raising your child and he's being a complete brat, a loving parent would make sure to discipline him properly so that he grows up to be a respectable human being because I love him and want what's best for him. A non-loving parent would just let their child do what they want regardless of what it means for their future. Now of course the child (and eventually man) have their own agency so they're mostly the ones that ultimately decide how they end up, but when my son breaks the law later on I might try and defend him, help fund his lawyers, try and sway public opinion in my son's favour if the matter is already public, but me not deciding to break him out of prison doesn't mean I don't love him. Garp didn't have any choice in the excecution, but he did try to tell Sengoku not to announce that he was Roger's child, he did try to confort Ace by not leaving him alone on the platform, and he ultimately gave Luffy the one and only real chance to save Ace by being "beaten" by Luffy. That's about all he can do short of literally becoming a criminal.

ps I'm not saying he was a good parent, he was far too absent to be a good parent (mostly because of his job), but that doesn't mean he didn't love them

AccordingToLucky

Okay, if u want me to agree with your argument and say Garp didnt abondon them cuz his love was conditional, i better never see Garp risk his life for Coby! Ever! If that happens, u owe me an apology! But sure, unconditional love would be that, but it would be extremely hard to find such a person, cuz like i said, u would have to forgive insane actions in certaon situations.

AccordingToLucky

Yea, again, he choose his job over family lol But i get what u mean ahaha

Krowft

That's not what I said.. Risking your life and breaking the law are 2 different things lol As I said, I'm not saying he's a good parent, only that he loved them, but when they break the law he's not going to break all the laws himself. If Ace was a marine captured by whitebeard, and he didn't break any laws, risking your life to save him would not be breaking the law at all on Garp's part, so it's a very different situation that would allow Garp to react differently. It doesn't prove that he didn't love Ace..

AccordingToLucky

That argument would work if he already didnt break all the laws keeping Ace alive from the governemnt lol So he breaks laws when he deems fit? So he didnt deem it fit to break laws to save his kin? Ok, got it, horrible human being and a shitty grandpa 🤣 U cant cheery pick when its okay for him to break laws. His love is def conditional then. He broke the laws then he thought they would grow up to be just like him, when they choose their own path, screw them. Got it. 🤣🙌🏻😤

Krowft

Not killing a baby is not breaking the law. It is simply not complying with an order, which may be punished in the military but it's not a law that was broken. Helping a condemned and convicted criminal escape however, IS breaking the law. Garp doesn't mind getting his hands dirty, and disobaying, but that doesn't mean he goes around breaking the law without facing concequences (such as when he agreed to repair the wall he broke in Water 7)

Krowft

Lol I'm participating in this thread while watching your latest reaction (511) :P Love your content btw

AccordingToLucky

Not telling the government where Ace is at while having strict orders to find and kill him and the mother is. And they butcheted that whole village of pregnant women and children cuz of it. He did break the law, and he was hiding him for 17 years as well lol He broke big big laws lol

AccordingToLucky

Ahaha i know u do bro! U and me have been going back and forth for years, dont worry, i know we good, its just a debate🤣❤️

g27

Not paying is also not breaking the law, it’s simply not complying with an order😂
