Whitebeard did use Haki to stab Aokiji but it does not work. The same thing happened when Marco & Vista tried to attack Akainu. Don’t treat the admirals like some random Logia users such as Smoker, they are the strongest marines who have mastered all advanced Haki and Devil Fruit techniques.

Lucky can you get watch the remake of the next arc? It removes unnecessary filler and speeds up the pace

AccordingToLucky

But i like the filler and i like to watch as the original show

Anb

Yes there is a remake of fishman island arc with better pacing and animation…you can start with the One piece fan letter episode which is just before the fishman island arc and then start the version that you want .

Philip

I say do not watch the remake Lucky, I think they cut out some important scenes and the original makes more sense even if the animation is worse, plus you enjoy the filler right? haha

Ivan Perez

understandable but what i mean as filler is having the crew run to or away from something for half the episode. post timeskip one piece has horrible pacing especially the next arc

Philip

Man you caught like all the foreshadowing that’s crazy that’s why you’re the GOAT. Also the opening at the ending, “We are” was the first opening of the whole one piece so it was really nostalgic

TRG

watch the new version of the next arc, looks better and its canon all the way

You know, I've made it no secret that I haven't really enjoyed the last few arcs following Luffy since I maintain he's still the least interesting character in the show; but this moment was another turning point for me against One Piece, since this is the first time I actively went "Okay; I don't like the choices that Oda's making with his story" I'm not much of a fan of Haki as a whole, but Conquerors Haki is on an entirely different level of "Why did he have to write it like this?". The whole concept of only one in a million people having the ability to use Conquerors Haki and it not something that anyone can learn just rubs me the wrong way: I've always hated the anime trope of "you have to be a specific individual born with it", and Conquerors Haki is probably one of the worst examples of that idea. Oh well; let the next arc begin lol

Regarding watching the original anime or the remastered version: I would actually recommend the remake, but not for the reason that everybody else is. Thing is; if you do decide to watch the original, there would still be one episode that you would 100% *have* to skip. The reason is that there is an anime only scene in that episode that completely invalidates the entire arc. I obviously can't go into specifics but to explain without spoilers: the next arc has a very specific theme and message that Oda is trying to tell, and this single scene that the anime added renders that message utterly meaningless. As far as I'm aware, the remake completely removes that scene and keeps the message of the arc intact; so on that basis alone I would say to watch the remake.

Jimbei says hes ashamed for being alive because before luffy let him out he said let me die for Ace. He also said multiple times during marineford that he was ready to die for whitebeard and Ace yet he ended up living

Philip

Lucky would not skip any episodes in general. And I have no idea what scene you're talking about

Mike G. M.

The added scene in episode 536

Martin Sung

I think he shouldn't watch fan letter yet. there are bounty posters that are spoilers in it.

And so we've reached the end of an era of one piece but soon we will begin again with the next! As you know lucky, fishman island is coming up soon and I understand why a lot of people want you watch the new remade version (it is officially btw and was done during a recent short hiatus on the main anime episodes), but I think you should watch whichever one you want and feels most organic to you. Also the original version is the one that everyone else saw during their one piece journey so it only makes sense imo that you get to experience the same thing!

Wind hashira

Whitebeard used Haki it’s just the admirals are on his level and younger so their observation is good and armament

Is the fish man island arc on crunchy roll the remake or the original? Edit: they have both I think. Personally the original is already such a jump in animation style already I don’t see the reason he needs to watch the short version, it’s. Great first arc to start after the training

Ivan Perez

Pre time skip has better animation than post time skip up until whole cake

Loro

The new version looks better but the pacing is pretty fast since I think it’s for people that are already familiar with the material or want to get caught up to the new stuff quickly. The original is way slower paced but it has no content skipped or sped up through. Honestly the best way to consume this portion of the story is to read the manga but I don’t think you would be interested in that.

LazySugarLover

Sure there are those bounties, but its to be expected for their bounties to increase in 2 years.

LeonLion

Maybe its time for lucky to start with one pace? Honestly i didn’t feel for the next arc that the pacing was that bad, but when it comes to other future arcs i have to admit its horrible and it gets worst from arc to arc

Krowft

Lol I can imagine Usopp's island trying to eat Luffy and Luffy trying to eat the island

Krowft

Haki doesn't prevent you from using your powers, it only allows you to hit their "true" body. Any contact with Aokiji would have definitely hurt him, however, if you cleverly shape your body around the attack (by making a hole the right size) then there is no contact, and no damage. This isn't easy to do however, it likely required precise Observation Haki on Aokiji's part to even be able to react to it on time, so if Whitebeard's attack was like a gum-gum gattling he probably would have been hit

King DDD

Original anime - the only right answer

Maks Lesniewski

You may or may not have already found out about this, but Oda confirmed that Garp didn't use Haki when hitting Luffy, and that his punches where simply "fueled by love".

AccordingToLucky

Damn, so that old man is that broken strong and still he didnt wanna help 😭
