I slightly disagree with you with the whole "we don't have music stars that cause that much of a reaction". They're are actually bands that cause that type of reaction... just not really in the West. The amount of women fainting over seeing BTS is crazy, and don't even get me started on the amount of terror that results from Japanese Idol culture with how many men are outright obsessed with singers.

I always found the comparison between Luffy's stupidity and Goku's forced xD Goku was never really stupid! Except in that DBS shit... As a child, he was naive and uneducated because, having grown up in the mountains with his grandfather, he didn't know civilization. And as an adult, he remained innocent. But not stupid! Whereas Luffy is the definition of stupidity. He has no excuse xD

Yes, absolutely! Goku was even characterized as a sage starting with the Namek arc. So serene that he was able to read Krillin's thoughts by touching his head! He was the ultimate warrior! Body and mind. Luffy is just an anarchist tornado. So stupid that he becomes a liberator for the people he meets.
