The amount of control he demonstrated by bouncing of each block is impressive. Remember, his ability isn't to bounce, it's to make things elastic, so he had to turn each beam the right amount of elastic to bounce him just right. And also, he was simultaneously making small parts of the air elastic to shield precisely against Midoria's attacks. And as he explained, he can't turn of the elasticity immediately, so while he's bouncing he also has to be careful not to hit any of his already elastic air patches accidentally. So if you think about it, he may be goofy but he has very impressive control

You are not wrong, deku did kick air vs overhaul and all might also did it, you just assumed that he can do it using 20% which we don't actually know cuz deku can't use 20% comfortably, against overhaul he could barely contain that kind of power. Now he can use it only on his hands thanks to the gloves. Deku's last percentage was 8 being able to use 20 for a very short time

I mean, even if Midorya can't use air to propel himself yet, he's definitely going to be able to do it eventually. He even pointed out himself that All Might did that exact thing to nearly break his back during that exam that he had to team up with Bakugo in season 2.

I mean... at least I called it a few episodes back that there would be some action XD It's weird; when Gentle did the whole "Dropping a beam move" with Deku, what he said afterwards was basically "Yeah, I was bluffing, but I know how 'you UA students' would behave in a situation like this". I might be reading way too much into things (wouldn't be the firsst time lol) but combined that with a few other lines about UA that he's said this ep; it makes me feel like he has personal history with UA and people having Dekus "dive in head first" attitude, but for the life of me I can't figure out what...
