"La Brava" doesn't mean "Honey". "Honey" was just another codename Gentle was thinking of. La Brava is spanish for "The Brave", but in Japanese, her codename is romanized as "Raburaba", which is also how you would write "love lover" in Romaji (Romaji is basically transliteration of Japanese signs).

Also, unrelated, can you guess what other character is voiced by the English VA of La Brava?

Also, about your argument that Gentle could've left behind a legacy by creating a family, here's a counterargument: Adolf Hitler never had children, and yet, he's still more well-known than most people's grandparents.

Krowft

I had just finished eating when you said that! I feel called out 😅

AccordingToLucky

Sure, but then thats a complex, where u want to be well known and famous. Thats an ego thing. A legacy with family is way more fullfiling. Also, Hitler is like 1 of 5 people that has such infamicy. Especially today cuz he's a poster boy for that kind of behavior. Just being a criminal still makes u a nobody. U need to do some insane shit to be remembered like Hitler. Also, do u really wanna be remembered like that? lol This just makes my argument better.

Krowft

Lol, so shooting is out, but everything else is fair game?

Maks Lesniewski

1. Yes, it's an ego thing. An ego thing that a family couldn't really satisfy. 2. No, being a criminal doesn't make you a nobody. Being a nobody makes you a nobody. Being criminal just makes you a bad person. 3. Yes, some people do wanna be remembered forever no matter what for. I can give you a list of criminals who comitted crimes for no other reason than wanting to be remembered.

Also, Hitler being a special kind of evil that is hard to be compared to isn't really the point I was trying to make. I was just trying to say there are many historical figures who never had a family, and are still remembered.

AccordingToLucky

Sure, but Stalin did more crazy shit than Hitler and yet Hitler is more popular. So there are no rules to imfamicy. But i guess they both remembered at least. Guess u got a point there. U can def be a shitty person, but it takes a monster to go down in history nowadays.

Maks Lesniewski

Meh, I'd say today it's actually easier than ever.

AccordingToLucky

Nah, its way harder today, cuz u get a moment of fame and disappear into the abys forever, cuz every other day someone does something crazy. But to be on the level of Hitler, u need to be in power like Putin or Trump, so u can actually do something on a global scale that will be ethed into history.

AccordingToLucky

Sure, but this guy was a gentle criminal. Tell me a criminal that didnt hurt anyone that was remembered by history?

So the name "Togata" that you were stuck on is Mirio's last name; however: because I couldn't believe it either when you pointed it out, I decided to double check by looking it up: Gentle' last name is "ToBIta", not "ToGAta", so, no he isn't actually related to anyone. (Also, Shigarakis name is "Tomura". Also there's Toga, All Mights real name is Toshinori, the invisible girls name is Toru, there's an entire family of Todorokis.... apparently the author just really loves names that start with "To" for some reason XD) I think Midoriyas line of "This is the hardest battle I've fought" isn't just about understanding his motives, it's realising how similar they actually are. When you think about it, what Gentle did was exactly the same as what Midoriya did in the first episode: he jumped in to try and help someone without thinking despite not being in a position to do so. The difference is that hen Midoriya did it, things turned out okay in the end; when Gentle did it, he basically ruined his life, his family, and his future. If Midoriya wasn't incredibly lucky that it was All Might around, there's no reason to think the same type of thing wouldn't have happened to him. I really think Midoriya sees Gentle as someone he could've turned into if he didn't have the people around him that he did. (I'm also starting to understand why I've seen people say that Gentle is one of their favourite characters now.) Also: reminder about the FMA:B OVA's for the next recording session :)

“Get over it” if only it were that easy, his record was stained and his future was robbed. Even if he somehow managed to do good the community wouldn’t ever forget and he would be tormented the rest of his life.
