The poison has a physical component to it. It affects your nerves, but then it encases your skin like a cast to trap and suffocate you. Luffy would be highly resistant to the nerve effects, but he would still be encased in the material that covers your body and can still be sufficated if his airways are blocked. But on the other hand, if his nerves are not affected he could probably break out of the cast if he tries.

Law said to Doflamingo “Vergo is a dead man, you’re about to lose your right hand man”. But he left him alive. Ussop said “Caesar is the type of person that Luffy hates the MOST. Luffy won’t forgive Caesar.” Luffy said “I don’t ever want to see your face again!” But left him a bit hurt and said “Who cares about that jerk.” What kinda build up…? They’re all talk. Honestly, I don’t see what’s to like about Luffy acting the way he acts. Zoro having a bullshit reason to watch a woman kill people in front of his eyes and sit back and watch that happen. Law not having the level of intellect to consider acting while Smoker was jumping Vergo, but takes his turn like it’s a Pokémon game. And Brownbeard was shot 70 times, as soon as we see blood, we can assume the guy can bleed to death. But no, there’s no such thing as “Bleed to death” in this show. And I better not see them “saving” the people who got encased by the poison gas. Because even if you find an antidote, that encasing that made them into snowmen was stopping them from breathing anyways. So they weren’t breathing. And even if you find an antidote, does that mean the poison never killed them anyways?
