This is probably one of the worst moments in MHA. I absolutely loved her character. She was so badass! The only reason she was introduced was to show off Tomura's power smh. Like, bro we already knew he was strong lmao. Didn't have to kill off a cool character to prove it

I hate this part so much. Star is literally a bad plot device to "weaken" shigaraki but in reality nothing really changes in the story. Her quirk gets destroyed so no one gets it, and Shigaraki's loss of his quirks doesn't really matter in the long end. It's not like we have a confirmation of what powerful quirks he has so this is just an excuse to say he lost a good chunk of his unknown abilities. They literally had to create some random overpowered character and have them die in 2 episodes so they can justify a nerf to the main villain (which doesnt impact the story).

But she was not introduced to show us how powerful he is, as you said we already know. It was to scare other countries from sending anymore help, because lets be honest if every other country send his number 1 hero even tomura would stand no chance with all the japanese heroes on top. So the story needed a good reason to why no one is helping.

Which arguably makes even less sense because what is ACTUALLY preventing other countries from just sending their best hero? If they all came to defeat AFO, this series would've been over a long time ago. But instead, they reserve the best heroes for unknown criminals? Idk Star was just a wasted character that was purely defeated by a forced story plot

Yeah, I agree with the other comments. Back when I read that part of the manga, I was genuinely annoyed. Star was a really cool character, but she gets killed three chapters after her introduction. It's ridiculous. She didn't even get a chance to talk to All Might or Deku. Actually, I remember dropping the manga not long after. I understand that Horikoshi wanted to finish his story quickly. He didn't want to end up a slave to his own work (and Shonen Jump) like Oda or other mangakas from previous generations. The manga ran for 10 years, and he wanted to leave it at that. But still... Everything felt rushed. Everything went way too fast from the moment Deku and Shigaraki got multiple Quirks anyway.
