YOOOO USOPP SAVED THE DAY. Sogeking would be proud of his friend im sure.

Let me argue a bit in Usopp’s favor. Luffy clearly trusts Usopp a lot, and I think there is a good reason for that: when it really matters, Usopp comes through. - In Syrup Village, Usopp stood up to Kuro to protect Kaya and the village, even though he was terrified. - In Arlong Park, Usopp knew he was completely outmatched by Chew. He thought he would die if he actually fought him. But after remembering how much Nami and the others were risking, he overcame his fear, went back, and defeated him. - In Alabasta, Usopp and Chopper fought opponents far stronger than they were. Even after taking a brutal blow to the head, Usopp refused to let anyone mock Luffy’s dream of becoming King of the Pirates. He overcame his fear and pain, kept fighting, and helped defeat them. - At Enies Lobby, it was Usopp, who shot down the World Government flag at Luffy’s command. He was no longer officially part of the crew at that point, and he had no obligation to follow Luffy’s orders, but he still came back and did it anyway, declaring war against the world. And Sanji said later to Usopp, they could only save Robin because he was there. He shot the keys to Robin's handcuffs, allowing Franky to free her, and also broke marines defenses with his sniping. If Usopp was not there, the outcome could have been really bad. - In Thriller Bark, Perona’s powers would have wiped out the crew, but Usopp was the one person who could counter her. He saved everyone. Usopp knows he is weak compared with the monsters around him. He knows that one mistake could cost him his life, so he gets scared, hesitates, and sometimes even runs. But that is exactly why his bravery matters. When there is no miracle and no one else left to save the day, Usopp still finds a way to stand up, do his part, and overcome not only stronger enemies, but himself. That is why I think Usopp would not have abandoned the Tontatta for good. The speech mattered, of course, but to me it felt more like the final push rather than the only reason he came back. Based on everything we had already seen from him, I believe he would have returned to save them or die trying. Also, in the manga, his retreat does not feel nearly as long as it does in the anime. The anime pacing stretches that moment a lot, which makes Usopp look worse than he does in the manga. Usopp deserves more credit. He is not just a coward gag character; he is a great, well-written character whose courage matters exactly because he is afraid. And Luffy knows this, that's why he has such a blind faith in Usopp

Why are you typing allat as if there are any consequences to the main characters in one piece? He should have failed in each and every one of those scenes... People hate him and his character because someone like him would be a 0 irl. That's the general problem with op, you can't take anything out of the show and motivate urself or apply irl.
