Ngl: I honestly thought the lack of ep was as counterbalance for the double ep on Saturday lol. Glad to see it wasnt! (And time to start my week of reminders to watch the OVAs next lol. Apologies in advance if it gets annoying over the next few days 😆) As fir the episode itself: your right the the guy that called out i the courts is biased: but unfortunately they won’t remove him from the council since he’s not actually saying anything that everyone else isn’t thinking. Especially about Emilia: they already said back at the mansion that her being a half-elf is the biggest thing she’s fighting against since no-one trusts half-elves due to the Witch of Envy. I saw this pointed out once, but it really is crazy how the same action can be portrayed in two different ways depending on the story. Like: when Luffy or Asta did things like Subaru did here: calling out the establishment for insulting his friend and then being willing to fight against one of them even if he knows he’s massively outmatched: thats considered something to cheer for and get hyped about and want them to win. Here though? It is abundantly clear that you are supposed to see this as Subaru being a moron and that failing miserably is exactly what he deserves. (Its kinda what you said: Subaru may be the main character, and in his mind he’s the main character, but he’s not *THE* main character, and that bizarrely makes him kinda unique in this genre)

RIP no ova yet. Soo im actually really happy you didn’t have a strong reaction to this episode. Knowing you I wasn’t expecting it but there’s a huge amount of people that dropped rezero after this very episode. They can’t stand Subaru after he lashed out here and don’t find him a fun character because he’s real character and not op aura farming slop like many other isekai protagonists. Any way the show only gets better from here and the second half of s1 is phenomenal! Can’t wait to see more and pls don’t forget the ovas

No prob my dude! I'll make sure to include them in the future posts! The first ones called "Memory Snow" and is more light hearted, and the second is either called "Frozen Bonds" or "Bonds of Ice" (translation dependant) and is much more serious and lore focused :)

His case is special tho cause he also has a point that they have only made it this far because he has died multiple times trying to save them. Yet they don’t know that and he can’t speak of it. And it’s not like he doing it for fame and glory so it hurts to be kicked out when he truly means well. Especially by the 1 individual u did it all for. Although Subaru lashing out was bad for his character but he kinda always been doing that. So add a fuck ton of psychological trauma on top of it his mind is cooked

The interesting point after seeing him at his lowest is to see how he recovers from it, how he evolves and develops as a person and I just can’t fathom the insane amount of people who drop a show without seeing where the development goes. It’s like an insane split. This show is one of the most popular isekais of all time and s4 is even among the top ranked of all time on myanimelist yet the people who watch it either drop it on this ep or continue and end up loving it

Also the end of the first ova kinda leads into the second one in the beginning so although the order isn’t omega important it’s nice to see how they tie together
