Of course Doffy uses Haki for both offense and defense. And he is far more experienced and powerful than Luffy. As things stand, Luffy is in the same power tier as Law—which is nowhere near enough to defeat Joker! On top of that, we mustn't forget that he's manipulating the Bird Cage and controlling a lot of people at the same time he's fighting! That drains his stamina. He is the first truly dangerous opponent in the New World. And he is far stronger than Luffy. And what I like about it is that you can see Luffy didn't miraculously become stronger than the entire world just because he trained with Rayleigh for two years. The situation with Fujitora and Sabo is really weird. Those guys could wreck Doffy in five minutes, but they do nothing because they don't see it as their role xD It makes them look like massive assholes while they're good guys. But hey... it's so Luffy and Law can save the country themselves And yes, Law isn't dead lol... How can you be surprised? It's like when you criticize Fujitora for letting people die. The truth is, he doesn't let anyone die because no one can die. It's like the Marines who were supposed to die from Caesar's petrifying gas on PH, before it was revealed that you could just pull them out of their cocoons......... There are mangas where only the protagonists have plot armor. In One Piece, the entire world has it, with a few exceptions here and there. And once again, that's what makes the flashbacks far more impactful than the post-timeskip present! Oda allows for dramatic situations in the flashbacks. But in the present, Luffy is completely shielded from any sense of guilt, defeat, or loss of a loved one. Even when he’s having a rough time, we aren’t really worried—neither for him nor for the other protagonists and allies.
