GEAR 4th!!!!! I went wild when I read that back in the day! It plays out pretty much the same way in the manga. He says "Gear" with his forearm in front of his mouth, and then on the next page—which was pitch black—you see the speech bubble with the number 4 inside! It was awesome! The one thing I think is better in the manga is that you can see Luffy is forced to use Gear 4 because Doffy implies that Gears 2 and 3 aren't enough to worry him. Gear 2 is too weak, and Gear 3 is too slow. You get that in the anime too, but it's not quite as clear. Up until Gear 3, Luffy is in the same power tier as Law. So, Doffy had no reason to fear him. But once Gear 4 comes into play.......

I have been waiting for the next episode so much, that and Usopp's haki moment were the hightlights for me.

GEAR FOURTH!!! Just to put into perspective even though we are quite far into timeskip we never saw luffy do this yet. Think of the enemies he faced so far, pacifista in sabaody, hody jones in fishman, ceaser in punk hazard, and now doffy. None of these enemies have compared at all to doffys power so does that mean luffy always had this or just came up with it like with gear 2 and 3? This is the most exciting part of dressrosa imo so now im finally excited again!
