Alright let me answer some of your questions. 1) Garfiel is a half-blood, if he wasn't he could've left the sanctuary without a problem, the reason to why he said that will be explained. 2)Emilia did pass out and will be explained why too, subaru technically also passed out to face his past so nothing to do with the witch of envy. The thing is the trial light went out for Emilia which means it's over that's it. Feel free to ask anything btw about this episode or even previous ones, I know how confusing this show can be lol but everything makes sense trust me :)

Honestly even without the body fluid stuff: theres 100% people simping for Echidna lol. (And tbh: never understood the appeal. Don’t know how to describe it but shes just not my type 🤷) Anywho: introducing formally the primary reason that this is my least favourite arc in the series: Garfeil. I mentioned this to Star in a comment at the end of last season when discussing this arc, but even though I like a lot of the overall plot points: Garfeil in this arc might be my most despised character in this show. (Not my least favourite character, but definitely the one I loathe the most. I do make that distinction) I’m actually going to have to straight up skip a couple of your reactions eps in the future because I just cannot watch some of the episodes he features in without raging.

So 3 quick points to Star (Sorry Lucky 😅) 1) He’s certainly the biggest factor, but he’s not the only problem I have. (If I say “Sphinx is the only good one” I think that should clue you into another character I don’t care for while keeping things spoiler free lol) As I said; I kinda touched on it when we talked last season, but my overall view of this arc is that if it’s directly related to the Tea Party, it’s fine. Some parts are even fantastic. It’s everything not directly related that tends to be a pain in the neck for me to get through. 2) I do admit; theres definitely a significant chuck of my dislike for Garfeil that comes from comparison to the Web Novel. Because in that version: I just didn’t care about him. And yet somehow in the translation from the Web Novel to the official publication: they managed to do nothing but accentuate all the wrong things about his character. He’s one of only a few characters that I insist are worse written in the Light Novel than the original version. And I wasn’t the biggest fan of his in the first place so theres some real compounding interest going on. 3) and probably the biggest: this is not my first rodeo of me being in the minority of disliking looking something otherwise universally praised because of just one thing/character that gets under my skin. (I’m probably the only person alive that still hates the original Last of Us game entirely because I found Ellie insufferable the whole way through.) And because I’ve been through this more then once: honestly Ive mostly given up trying to explain to anyone else why I have these opinions whenever I find myself in a situation like this, since every time I try I’m just met with a confused look anyway as it always seems to just come down to just vague “feelings” that I don’t have the ability to explain to anyone else in a way that they can relate to, and it always results in a fruitless argument, so at this point I’ve just conceded to never trying to explain why even just a few seconds that no-one else payed attention to can somehow ruin an entire film for me. (Also something thats happened with me more then once 😑) I bring this point up to say that maybe there’s a chance I might try and explain in more details when certain things happen why I can’t stand then, but don’t be surprised if this is actually the last I have to say on the topic and Ill just stick to talking about the aspects of this arc that I do in-fact think are interesting to talk about. 😊

Haha no worries man. Everyone can have their own opinion even if its widely in the minority compared to other people. No hate or anything at all, but like you mentioned I definetly get surprised hearing such opinions like that. For example what I loved about last of us games is the relationship between Ellie and Joel and hearing you didnt like her at all is surprising considering everyone else seems to love her too. But hearing opinions like that for me just makes me interested in hearing about the why and making conversation, trying to understand each other more, arguing is just pointless. Hearing about the Garfiel stuff from you, I might assume you read the web novel first? I havent read any of the novel versions of this arc as my first experience with it was the anime and Ive only checked out anime vs novel differences afterwards and cut content. I only started reading rezero novel stuff a few years after s2. I look forward to maybe talking with you more when we get further into the season.
