Todo in previous ep said that curse energy originates from navel. Yuji is using his Divergent Fist by channeling his curse energy from the navel into his fist and only his fist, which causes the delay. If Yuji shrouds his whole body with curse energy instead of just his fist then the delay won't happen and fist will do more damage. That's what I roughly understood myself. Nobara did get tossed around in training. It was weird but we saw Panda swinging her round and round before. Probably. Zenin Clan is a powerful and prideful clan but also stupid. Fourth Grade is the lowest grade for a sorcerer and Maki is on that one officially cuz of their interference. If you don't have talent in that clan, you are one of the servants. Mai was okay with that but she was forced to be a sorcerer instead when Maki left cuz the leader had made his intentions with Mai clear to Maki when latter was leaving. Both sisters become either sorcerers or servants. The clan was pretty relieved btw that the unskilled children of elder brother of the clan are at least women cuz it would have been sore to them to see men being servants that were supposed to be strong sorcerers. Reality of the world as it is. 🤷‍♂️

Hey Lucky! Great reaction. I'm here to help you out a bit cause i know it gets a bit confusing at the beginning with the clans and the characters. But yeah you don't have to read all this but if you want, it will for sure help you out. I think you got the hole zenin clan thing. Also you should remember that clan name. It will be important to some extend for "THE" Goat. We know Mai and Maki from the zenin clan and we got a glimpse of the head of the clan. Also as you saw, people who aren't talented are treated like scum in zenin clan especially maki because she has no cursed energy at all even tho she has unique physicall capabillities. Also in ep 14 when the students from diffrent schools were meeting eachother Kamo (the blood manipulation user) said that Megumi Fushiguro is from the zenin bloodline and that he is more talented than the head of the clan. Megumi "Fushiguro" is also an important name.

their dynamic reminds me a lot of yoruichi and soi fon's dynamic, love it

Mai didn't follow Maki because that's just what she's used to doing, after Maki told the Zenin Clan leader that she had ambitions toward his seat, he said something to the effect of "Then I'll put you through difficulties befitting that...and Mai as well." So Mai is literally being forced to be a sorcerer by the Clan(the complete opposite of her desires) as a direct result of Maki's brazen ambition. Not that it's Maki's fault that her gramps is a jerk, but geezers will be geezers.

Maki's superhuman physical prowess is explained in this episode as the result of a Heavenly Pact(putting aside all the training we know she does). Basically, she was supposed to be born with the Zenin Clan's inherited Jujutsu technique but was instead born with very little(less than a normal non-sorcerer) cursed energy and no technique because the Heavens took them and gifted her superhuman physicality. Like how Mechamaru "Traded" his limbs and general good health for exceptional cursed energy production. Sometimes the Heavens decide to gift you cursed blessings.
