I’ve always held a theory about this movie that it stared out as an adult spoof of movies like Homeward Bound and Milo and Otis. Then midway through they realized how dumbfuck that idea was and made it a straight animal adventure kids movie

It’s on Tubi. I’ve never seen a greater disregard for the well-being of animals. The poor puppy that plays young Bingo is literally shivering throughout its scenes

And it actually reminded me a lot of the original Vacation (right down to the station wagon). The jokes were dumber but some of the jokes in Vacation weren’t total gold either.
