This episode was built in a lab specifically for me. Grew up in rural Illinois in the area they're talking about and went to SIU in Carbondale. I'm a bit younger than Jason, so I saw the fallout in the 90s after all the "mines collapsing" stuff went down. Can also confirm that Illinois is divided, in many ways, between Chicago and "Everything That Isn't Chicago". Trippy episode for me.
