Happy Podcasting Day! We got you a present: It’s this podcast. We’re joined this week by Logan Trent, Senior Editor at Cracked.com. And not just a Cracked Senior Editor – the mightiest of many Cracked Senior Editors! The last man standing after multiple purges! You cannot kill him, though I know merely saying that tempts you to try. We’re talking about the most rad film ever made, Rad! The 1986 movie about a whole city devoted to BMX racing when, holy shit, you won’t believe it but a big BMX race comes to town! Featuring big name BMX cameos like-

Break the Ice at parties by subscribing to the podcast so you can… so you can talk about the podcast with people? ā€œBreak the Iceā€ was the theme song from Rad. Shit. That was a long way to go for nothing. Send Me an Angel in the form of a review!

Oh hell yeah, perfect recovery.

Jesus Christ it just keeps going. It's the Cocktails of 70s-looking 80s BMX racing films.

LyraV

I jumped on that fucking shirt. Fantastic A#1 awesome.

Vooster

I haven't started listening yet, but I'm already 100% in on Dipshit Mike the Bike Asshole. That guy fucks. Bikes. He fucks bikes.

Dean Costello

Why the both of you are not shooting apes with laser guitars and not just run-of-the-mill lasers is both lost on me and a branding gimmick not to be ignored.

I went to check out the Rad! IMDB page, but in so doing another movie titled "Neon Maniacs" caught my eye. It's also from '86 and looks very, very bad, but it just might be in the 1900HotDog wheelhouse. Also, none of the titular maniacs appear to be adorned with anything neon, which seems like quite the oversight.

Skebotron

I love that this statement is only comprehensible within the realm of the HotDog and absolutely nowhere else.

Matt Edwards

"Bike Predator" makes me think there's a market for remakes of classic 80s movies on BMXs. "You're hit man, you're bleeding!" "I ain't got time to bleed." "You got time to duck?" *PONCHO BMX jumps off a convenient dirt ramp and drops grenades on embedded gun position*

Skebotron

Hey, if you want to take on the risk of bringing him up, that's your choice. I'm playing it safe.

Flippant Sausage

It is truly magnificent. I dropped my credit card in a vent and it's been stolen by the Mouse Lords, but as soon as negotiations finish I am grabbing that fucker.

Flippant Sausage

Bah, safety is for cowards. Stare into the Heathcliff abyss until you hear the voice of the Spawn of Heathcliff directing you to His mighty ham throne.

LyraV

If I see the leader of the Mouse Lords (assuming it's still Split-Ear Spittleseeds) I'll tell him to fuck right off for you. DOGG Zoonneee 90000!!!

LyraV

I went back to look and yeah, I see what you mean. He takes them out and respects them before gently entering their tailpipes. Your bike-dar(?) is on point.

The line between "community" and "cult" is not very fine, at all, and yet we've crossed it long ago.

Ronnie Zoop looks like the kind of local serial killer you're genuinely surprised to see on the news

The tendency of TV and movies to have like 20 something guys play teens made things real hard for those of us lads who had a full "1700's French Canadian Trapper" beard by the age of 17. You look like a well preserved 28 year old pervert who should either be holding some spectacular drugs or have graduated by now.

Will Black

Had a buddy years ago who loved this movie to a disturbing degree. He’d sit alone, at 1am, blaring ā€œSend Me An Angelā€ at full-blast, waking up everyone in the barracks. He was obsessed with Lori Laughln and would constantly talk about how hot she was in the bike dancing scene. Years later I found out that her stunt double that did all of the bike-dancing stunts was Eddie Fiola, aka Donnie Ham the Bike Monster. So when my buddy was talking about the glorious shot of her ass, he was talking about Eddie’s ass. Another couple years later I found out he’d been kicked out of the Army for being bat-shit insane. They say it was PTSD… but I think he had a hard time realizing he’d spent 20 years or so lusting after a Donnie Ham’s hams.

There's a moment when they're looking at the river during the ass blasting montage where she picks up this big rock and throws it in the river to splash him. It's meant to be cheeky and playful but his stance is oddly rigid and the rock is heavy that she can't really ham it up enough to sell it as a joke, so instead it feels like she's about to bash his skull in with a rock.
