Brockway uses his vampiric powers to seduce Seanbaby and guest, Jamie Kelly, into his trap: This podcast about the 2002 movie Queen of the Damned, where Lestat the vampire awakens because nu metal is too sweet to sleep through. That's not a joke, that's seriously the plot. He joins a nu metal band and sings with the voice of Korn's Johnathan Davis! Still somehow not a joke!

I remember I attempted to watch this movie (while insanely drunk) just to get to the part where my favorite song off the soundtrack was (“Body Crumbles”). I ended up passed out through it, and then discovered via the chapter list on the box that the song never appears in the movie. Frick.

Animal Factory (2000) for those looking for the finger in the butt movie. I didn't even have to look this up.... sigh.

Vampires-Becoming-Rock-Stars movies reached their peak with Rockula (1990) starring Dean Cameron of Summer School and Ski School fame

Well this feels like a personal attack

I lived with my Hot Topic mall-goth girlfriend when this came out. She *loved* it, and bought the soundtrack immediately if I was smarter/wiser I would have ended it immediately I did not.

May Anne Rice's shade forgive us for what we have done here today, because God will not.

I laughed my ass off in the lab, and my lab director asked what I was listening to. Apparently this movie was in the rotation of movies he watched in the 00s to cure his insomnia, along with Highlander 3 and Ginger Snaps.

1. Do we now know who killed Aaliyah? 2. A butler named Cadbury is a solid Ritchie Rich reference, are you going to watch that, too? It seems like it would be a nice 1995 time machine. 3. I haven't seen Queen of the Damned in years, but the phrase Little Count Porkula evokes that face perfectly.

Bad movie, but Lestat slithering onto that amp was a sexual awakening for me. I think I was the target audience, and i was a 13 year old sad girl so. . . yeah you guys were spot on about this movie good job.

Thank you for keeping the wheelchair bit in.

No where else to write this since there aren’t any more Bigfeets posts (I get it, that podcast has a life of its own), but thanks, Jamie, for beating out Fallout Boy for the best We Didn’t Start the Fire cover in 2023.

It’s been a long time since I saw this, but I think little lord Porcula is Brad Pitt…’s character from Interview, Louis.

Lolo

Louis isn’t in this movie. Porkula is supposed to be Armand, played by Antonio Banderas in the first movie.

I had this DVD back in the day. I don't remember how I acquired it, it must have been bargain bin fodder because I was buying a lot of cheap DVDs on whims. I watched it maybe 1.6 times. Understood that a whole lot of nothing is actually on brand for Anne Rice and did not finish reading the book. She's not a good writer. I think she just had a big case of right idea at the right time and got lucky.

Ahhh ... that was me in the early 2000s. Growing up in a failed industrial urban environment with a copy of vampire the masquerade and a shitty hot topic shirt.

If only Lestat sang with the voice of Korn, Japanese rapper and Iron Chef judge.
