2026 Updates & What's Coming (Patreon)
Content
Hey all,
2026 is going to be a bit different. Posting schedule will have to decrease down to an average of 2 chapters per book per week. Why? Well, there's a couple of reasons and I want to be transparent:
I'm currently posting 6 chapters a week (3 RR, 3 PotP). I can feasibly write 5-7 chapters a week given perfect conditions. Maintaining a backlog is practically impossible at this release speed. It wouldn't be a problem with 1 book, but 2 makes it much more difficult.
Turns out I get to go through the Newborn phase of parenting again this summer (~May-June). So I'll need a substantial backlog to keep things going for you all. Being sleep deprived and stressed out trying to find the new normal probably won't produce great chapters :)
What this means is that we will need to reduce chapter releases down to 16 per month, with a possibility of 12 per month in the summer.
The plan is always to stay way ahead of public releases either way. If we slow down on Patreon, we'll be slowing WAY down on Royal Road. I completely understand that reducing my posting speed may result in lost Patrons, but this just isn't sustainable long-term.
Other fun things to expect:
We've selected Gary Tiedemann to narrate Path of the Paladin! He's a well-known narrator for Tantor/RBMedia and now he's recording for Aethon Books. I'm excited to hear him bring the world to life. I'll have more information on the release timeline soon.
We'll be wrapping up Issue 2 of Rivera's by the end of the year-ish, giving me some room to slow down on Issue 3.
Book 2 of PotP will be completed on schedule (hopefully) since I can breathe again. I think you'll enjoy how this one ends. Expect it to be about the same length as Book 1.
This gives me some time to put together side stories, specials, and whatnot.
While I don't have much to share yet, I accidentally put together a new story that combines elements and systems from PotP and Rivera's Repairs. This is in a concept phase at the moment, but based on some early feedback... I think it has legs. Will share more in the Spring (assuming I stay sane!)
As always, I really appreciate all of you being here and reading my stories. You're all awesome. If you have any feedback at all, please don't hesitate to voice it.
