🌍🌱Simple Earth Day Magick Spells 🌱🌎 (Patreon)

Earth Day is on April 22, 2024, which is a celebration of environmental education and action that was started in 1970. In this post, we have two spells you could do to set your positive and healing intentions and honor Mother Earth. You could do these specifically on Earth Day or any day, because Earth Day should really be celebrated everyday! These are spells that I posted about last year but wanted to share them again!

Here is a simple ritual from Temple of Witchcraft to celebrate Earth Day. This ritual harnesses your "intentions for environmental protection and renewal into action."

Materials:

- A bowl

- Dirt from your yard or local park

- Water

Christopher Penczak writes, "Magicians often believe in the Principle of Contagion, stating that once two things have touched, they are always energetically connected, to do something to one, is to do something to the other. We also believe in the Principle of Correspondence, showing patterns exist on multiple scales, and the Principle of Sympathy, where when you perform an action on one of these scales, it can have a reciprocal response on another scale. These three principles together are the metaphysical reason behind such things as poppet spells, for healing or harming. The poppet is made from something the person has touched (contagion) and a small, seemingly inconsequential action on the doll corresponds with a result on the person it is made to embody (correspondence and sympathy). The same principle is at work here, but with the bowl of earth and corresponding to the planet Earth."

Sit with your bowl of soil and put yourself into a meditative trance state. Fill yourself up with peace, healing and blessings for the Earth. Place your hands into the soil and connect with it by reflecting on the Earth element. Bless your soil with your positive and healing energy. The Earth element holds qualities of stability, grounding,

Next, do the same with your water. Pour the water into the Earth, blessing it by the power of the Water element. Bless it by blowing your breath on it invoking the power of the Air element. Speak words of intention for healing and love for Mother Earth. Hold it up to the light of the Sun and the Stars and bless it with the Fire element. Embrace the powerful energy you have called upon then return your soil and water to the Earth. It can now bless the land that surrounds it and move throughout the land.

Take some time to ground yourself after doing this spell. Do exercises that can help anchor yourself and return back to consciousness. Touch something solid like the ground or floor, hydrate yourself, have a light snack, etc.

Following your spell, you can take action! Expand your knowledge on how you can be more environmentally friendly and teach others to do the same.

A Spell to Harness the Earth Element) From Llewellyn)

Here is an Earth Day spell from Llewellyn. “The Earth does not belong to us; rather, we belong to the Earth. From the Earth come the crops, and from the crops come the food that fuels our bodies. The Earth, in fact, has fueled all civilization for centuries. Let this spell return you to the power of the Earth. With your hands, scoop up a small amount of soil. It may contain a bit of grass, rocks, bark, or any natural object. Press the soil into a small ball and let it dry upon a piece of coarse cloth, such as burlap. Then, tie up the corners of the fabric. Keep this sacred Earth bundle as a token of the powers of the Earth. Place it upon your altar when you need some Earth energy for spell work. If possible, go to a local farmers' market and purchase some produce or bread. As you eat the natural products, stop and think about where they came from. Reflect, and give thanks to the Earth and to the ancient farmers who first tendered the soil. Without them, our civilization would not exist. Blessed be.”

Earth Day blessings!
