Let’s make Yule Wassail! Yule is from December 21st until January 1st with the Winter Solstice being on the 21st. This marks the shortest day and longest night of the year and the beginning of the return of light moving forward. Themes for Yule revolve around rebirth, new beginnings, reflection and regrowth. It is a time to show resilience in the darkest of times.
Originally, wassail was a word that meant to greet or salute someone. On cold evenings, groups would go wassailing and offer a toasty, warm cup of cider or ale as a greeting on other's doorsteps. Overtime, the tradition changed to combining eggs and alcohol then sprinkling them over crops to promote fertility. Even though this recipe doesn't call for eggs, it is sure yummy, attracts love, prosperity and protection, plus makes your home smell amazing for the Yule season!
Here is a printable for the Yule Wassail! You can download and print this out for your Grimoire, Book of Shadows or whatever you choose. I have a binder that acts as a Grimoire so if you have something similar, this could be added if you’d like. You can even just print it out to hang up or simply keep in a folder, too. You can download this PDF by clicking on the link in the attachments.❤️🍄
