Here are some more spells you could do for the summer solstice or throughout the summer if you choose. Do you think you’ll try any of these spells? Do you have any that you want to share?
💗Harmony Jar Spell💗
Today is Litha, so I made a small (teeny tiny) jar spell to promote harmony and well-being in my life. Here’s what I did in case anyone wants to use it :)
Materials:
-a small container
-wisteria (for overcoming obstacles)
-sunflower petals (for happiness)
-lavender (for harmony)
-sugar (for preserving love)
-lemongrass essential oil (for peace)
I simply combined my materials in my jar and left in the sun to charge and that’s it! Hope people find this useful and happy Litha to those of you who celebrate it :)
🐱Pet Health/Protection Spell Bottle 🐶
Note: Make sure to ask your pet if it is okay if you take a small amount of their fur. If they show discomfort in this use their favorite type of treat or something you may connect with them
Ingredients for Spell Bottle #1:
- Salt (Purification and to ensure the spell bottle lasts)
- Eggshells (Protection)
- Pine (Banish sickness and bring about good luck)
- Lavender (Healing, love, and calming)
- Cinnamon (Health and good luck)
Small amount of her fur (to tie it to her)
- Green Candle (Luck, recovery, connectedness to nature)
- Brown Thread (Animals, pets, locating lost items)
Ingredients for Spell Bottle #2:
- Salt (Purification and to ensure the spell bottle lasts)
- Lavender (Calming)
- Basil (Peace and protection)
- Mint (healing)
- Cinnamon (Health and good luck)
- Small amount of her fur (to tie it to her)
- Green Candle (Luck, recovery, connectedness to nature)
- Brown Thread (Animals, pets, locating lost items)
Directions:
1. Gather your ingredients. I used all dried herbs to make sure no mold would grow in the bottles. I want these bottles to last and to provide protection for as long as they possibly can. If possible, have your pet in the room or nearby while doing the spell
2. Cast your circle, invoke the elements or your deities or whatever you want to do
3. Light your green candle and then begin adding each ingredient (salt first, fur last, otherwise the order doesn’t matter) As you add ingredients continually repeat (either in your head or out loud)
“Healthy eyes and nose and heart
keep her/him safe when we’re apart
Good luck good health and protection
away with illness and affliction
(pet name) please stay always close
and know my love forever shows”
If you are not one for spoken spells or chanting, you may also write this out on paper and burn it before you add the ingredients, and then think of your intent as you add each ingredient
4. When all ingredients have been added, tie the brown thread around the bottle neck and seal the bottle with green wax. Then keep the bottle in a location your pet often uses. For melody’s I cut open the lining of a foam cat cube she sleeps in and sewed it in there, for Mandy’s I sewed it onto her leash, however if your bottle is too big to do anything like that, then just keep it in the same area you keep their food or treats.
5. Collect any spilled ingredients and thread trimmings and bury them in a nice sunny place.
💨 Summer Winds Spell for Patience 🌬
What You’ll Need:
The sun (through a window, by going outside, etc)
Gold yarn/string
Dandelion (fluffy)
What To Do:
Get yourself in a ritual headspace. For this spell, I would recommend being outside, given that there’s a large weather/nature connection to it, but if you’re in a dorm or can’t for some other reason, access to the sun through a window should work.
Feel the sun’s rays on your skin. Feel them like they’re liquid, like honey slowing seeping into your bones and warming every part of you. Breathe deeply and taste the air. What does summer smell like? Is there humidity? Does the wind stir, or is it quiet and calm? Let yourself sink into the feeling of summer, and embrace the sounds and smells and feelings that come along with it; accept them and honor them, even the ones that may be unpleasant.
Recognize that the world is cyclic, and that as all things come, all things go, and life moves on. When you feel ready, take out your string and tie it to the stem of your dandelion. In the knot, visualize yourself placing your worries, the things that make you frenzied and stir crazy, the things you can feel are about to happen and the apprehension you feel, the fear that they will; this string represents your impatience.
Hold the dandelion with the string tied on it in front of you, and make use of your feeling of the air. If it’s already windy, you’re in luck; allow the summer breezes to wrap around you and cradle you, feel how patiently they drift around, in no hurry to rush towards fall or winter, content to be what they are– content just to be. (If there’s no wind, feel free to whistle one up or wait until there is.)
When you feel the wind and feel like you understand, saturated with the feeling of patience, ask the wind to take away all the things that keep you from feeling this way normally. Blow the dandelion fluff away, and watch your impatience be carried away.
