Let’s talk about different types of moon water! There are different correspondences to each moon phase when charging your waters. This can give your spells and intentions an added boost. You can harness the power or the new, waxing, full and waning moons. You can use the power of the zodiac corresponding to the moon. You can also harvest the powers of a super moon and a powerful eclipse. Here are different types of moon waters and their meanings from an article by Sacred Hands Coven!

Dark Moon Water – Sacred Hands Coven says “If you need to cross, hex, or bind someone, use this water with the spell work to engage the darkest phase of the moon. This water can give you a boost of energy if you are opening your own business, starting a new job and want to encourage success. New Moon water would also be good for planting new gardens or trees. Waxing Moon Water – Add this water to your spells to give extra energy for strength and growth. This would be useful for any spells that increase your abilities, expand your knowledge or improve your skills. Fertility spells would also increase in power by using the magic of the growing moon. Super Moon Water – If you a mega big boost to your spell, use Supermoon water. This would apply the same to Full Moon water but on steroids.

Waning Moon Water – This water gives extra strength to any spells or magic you are doing for banishing. It will help clear away anything no longer serving you, negativity and other toxicity you want to remove. Waning Moon water could be useful in weight loss spells, getting rid of stress, setting boundaries with draining or negative people, bad habits, addictions, self doubt, negative self talk and negativity you feel towards others. The things you are banishing will go with the waning moon as it fades to new.

Lunar Eclipse Water – If you need some drastic change with your spells, use lunar eclipse water. Maybe you or someone you know is in an undesirable situation and needs some drastic change. Another type of water you can make is called sun water, also called solar water.

Solar Water – Solar Water is great to use for spells that focus on honor, power, pride, ego and dignified. It is highly charged water that can help you increase your self-confidence and improve your abilities in leadership. Solar Water enhances the efficacy of these spells. Sacred Hands Coven says, “Just as the sun brings so much life to the earth, Solar Water breathes new life into spells used, which incorporate this powerful water.” You can set out your sun water anytime you’d like, but if you want maximum power, the best time would be around sun’s peak.

To give your moon and sun waters extra powers, add some water safe stones to them. This will add more properties to the water. If you’d rather not put stones into your water, you can place them on top of a lid to your container, too.

If your water is spring, purified or any type of drinkable water, you can receive the energy of your water by drinking it before performing your spells. You can add the water to your spells, as well. It’s totally up to you how you want to use it!

Getting ready to make your moon water is simple! All you need to do is fill a container with water (make sure it’s drinkable if you plan on consuming it) and place a lid on it if you don’t want any outdoor debris getting into it. Add stones, herbs or anything else you’d like into the water or place on top of the lid. Close the jar lid if you have one. If you’re making moon water, place it outside after the sun has gone down in your area. Leave it outside for the moon to charge your water! Cloudy nights will still charge your water sufficiently. Bring in your moon water before sunrise the next morning. For sun water, place your container out in the sun and bring it in before it goes down. Very simple, enjoy!
