Tough as a Nail, Sharp as a Thorn Protection Spell (by Tea Candles and Witchcraft)

This is a spell to help protect you from physical or emotional harm.

Ingredients:

- Storm water

- Rose thorns

- Nails

- Herbs for protection and strength (Such as black pepper, ginger, basil, and oregano)

- A jar

- Optional: paper and something to write with, if you don’t want to say the spell out loud

Instructions:

Add protective herbs to your jar.

Add storm water to about halfway up the jar.  While you add it, say â€œStrong as lightning, thunder, and rain, all attempts to harm me will be in vain.”  If you can’t say the spell out loud, write it down on a piece of paper and add that into the jar.

Add the thorns and nails into the jar and say â€œTough as a nail, sharp as a thorn, though this spell new strength will be born.”  If you can’t say the spell out loud, write it down on a piece of paper and add that into the jar.

Night Protection Spell by Magpies Magic Nest

"I ask the night to guide me.

I ask the shadows to guide me

Allow me to get home safely."

This spell is used for protection whilst travelling at night. When the caster feels unsafe or threatened during night time travels or commutes, they mentally or verbally chant the spell, as many times as the caster desires until home safely. This spell shields the caster from harm and blends them into the night. When safety home simply say/think: “Blessed be and thank you to the energy of the shadows for allowing me safe passage home. I release the magick back into the universe.” For extra amplification, carry a moonstone crystal with you.

Protection Spell by Calgarian Witch

This is a spell meant to keep negative entities, energy, and events from reaching you.

What you’ll need:

- One White Candle

- One Bowl of Salt

- Five Basil Leaves

- Five Sprigs of Rosemary

- Five Sprigs of Lavender

- One Cup of Water (sealable if possible. You can certainly move to a more suitable container)

Begin by lighting your candle. Walk around the space you’re casting in (carefully) and visualize all of the negative energy being burnt away by the flame. Return to your spot, ands leave the candle burning as an energy aid. Place your rosemary, basil, and lavender in the cup of water, and stir it with your finger. Put your energy and intent towards making this water sacred and protective, focusing on each individual ingredient. Next, add some salt from your bowl, and mix once more. Take up your cup of water, and flick its contents around the room and over your body. Fish out the herbs and leave the cup of water out somewhere where it is visible. Each morning, place a few drops from this water onto your person, reciting this chant:

“Water pure, full of strength,

Cleanse me, protect me.

Repel all negative things,

And watch me through the day.”

Keep the water sealed and somewhere cool and dark to avoid mold. Refresh the contents every week or so.

Ghosts All Around Protection Iced Tea by Ghost Nettle

Blueberries are known for their potent protection properties, both physical and metaphysical. Usually one is encouraged to have their children stamp blueberries, staining their hands and feet and giving them strong protection. But that is messy, and a good alternative would be to make tea! Of course you don’t have to be a child to enjoy the protective energies of Blueberry. So, onward to the tools and materials!

What you will need:

- Glass container (any size will work, I think mine was a gallon or two)

- Clean water (enough to fill your container)

- Two (2) large generic iced tea bags (those family sized packs at the dollar store work well, or whatever black tea suits your fancy)

- Two (2) teabags full of Teavana’s Blueberry Bliss Tea (you can use any blueberry tea, this is just the one I used, and it’s very yummy~!)

For serving:

- Ice

- Honey (I used sun-charged honey for extra magical potency)

- Additional blueberries for garnish, if desired

Directions:

(Note: this recipe is best made on a sunny day)

1. Fill up your container with cool, clean water. Add in your teabags and stir clockwise, imaging the water being infused with protective energies until it has a faint blue glow.

2. Set it somewhere outside where it will get at least 2 hours of sun. If you want you can draw a protection sigil on glass with your finger too. Leave it out there for as long as you want, but it should be strong enough in about 2 hours. Personal preference is up to you, my family’s left our sun tea out for a whole day and it was still lovely.

3. Once you are happy with the strength of the tea, take it back inside and you can either serve it immediately over ice and sweetened with the honey or you can pop it in the fridge overnight and then serve. Garnish with the whole berries if you wanna be fancy!

There you go! This would make a lovely offering for a Midsummer gathering or to ingest before a magical summer rite. Go forth and make magic while feeling protected by Blueberry!

Storm Witch’s Anti-Intruder Charm by The Living Spell Book

You will need:

- Shards of sea shell

- Bullet casings

- Shed claws or nail clippings

- A drop of blood

- A dash of pepper

Bind all of these things into a sachet WITH INTENT and place it above your door frames.

Graycloak’s Black Salt by Graycloak's Grimoire

Black Salt is simply salt, plus a blackening agent. What you use as your blackening agent is what makes your Black Salt right for you; so long as you are satisfied with what you’ve chosen, there’s nothing wrong with it. Common agents are scrapings from a cast iron pan, charcoal/ash, and even pepper.

Black Salt is primarily used for banishing, and for absorbing negative energy.

This recipe calls for the ash of protective herbs as the blackening agent.

Ingredients:

- Chamomile

- Lavender

- Sage

- Black Pepper

- Sea Salt

You will need

- Mortar & pestle

- Incense burner, or other fire-safe container

- Container for finished salt

1.) Determine how much salt you want to make. A common ratio is 2 parts salt to 1 part blackening agent.

2.) Take equal-ish measures of Chamomile, Lavender, and Sage, and grind them in your mortar & pestle until you have a course, chunky powder. I ended up with big pieces of sage leaves, which ended up being a great way to light the powder in multiple spots.

3.) Burn down your powder, as you would a loose incense, until you have nice, smokeless, ash.

4.) Add your salt, pepper, and ash to your mortal & pestle.

5.) Grind together the salt, pepper, and ash until the salt has completely turned color.

6.) Transfer your Black Salt to a new container.

And you’re done! :D

Remember - For the most part, Black Salt absorbs negative energy, it doesn’t reflect, negate, or convert it (the black pepper does banish/negate some of the negative energy, so that does helps this blend last longer).

Once it has absorbed all it can, it will need to be replaced. Be courteous about how you dispose of your used, negative-energy full, Black Salt: burn it, bury it, or cast it into running water.

Black Salt by Rhiannon Christine

Here is a personal recipe by Rhiannon Christine to make black salt. You may get your own ideas and be inspired to add some of these ingredients and methods to your own!

Ingredients:

- Bay Leaf (protection)

- Black Pepper (protection against negativity, evil, & jealousy)

- Cloves (protection for babies & against negativity & gossip)

- Fennel (protection against evil, curses, & problems)

- Dill (protection against dark forces)

- Marjoram (protection against negative energy)

- Loose Sage

- Fire Safe Bowl

- Charcoal

- Salt

1.) Place loose sage and 5 Bay leafs into my bowl (1 for each person in your household.)

2.) Placed 5 shakes of each herb into your fire safe bowl( again, one for every person in your house)

3.) Draw your protection sigils and charge them (I know generally to destroy them, you burn them) but I charged them with the intent to burn and still retain their protective values - since the soot of everything will be mixed with the salt

5.) Once charged place them in the bowl and burned them up along with all the dry herbs (I did this outside, and sat upwind from it but still came inside REEKING of cloves and other burned herbs just because I don’t have a mortar and pestle so I had to sit there and stoke the little fire and keep applying flame to make sure everything was burned thoroughly.)

6.) Once everything was burned and cooled, I used a piece of mother of pearl to smash up the bits that ABSOLUTELY refused to burn, and adding in the bits of soft vine charcoal to smash up as well.

7.) I added the salt to my herb/sigil/charcoal mix and mixed it around. It still wasn’t dark enough so I added it to my bag of charcoal and kinda massaged it and shook it around, cut the corner of the bag, and sorta strained the salt and larger pieces of things that wouldn’t grind up into a powder and placed it in one of the smaller containers I own.

8.) Leave it out all night under the moon to charge
