Actually you're both wrong, azimuth said that the failsafe in the Omnitrix was refusing to accept anymore DNA from the conductoid species again after Ben lost it since he punched malware with his Omnitrix wearing arm.

There's some theories on why Ben loved using feedback which is that Ben would get a buzz or a high every time he absorbed energy with feedback which got him addicted on using the alien over and over. When losing the ability to transform to feedback the Omnitrix did not allowed Ben to transform into it and the fail safe of Omnitrix did not allow to put the DNA of Feedback in the Omnitrix again for Ben to use
