The verdict is in: I very much prefer Clip Studio's pencil tool.

Will Kim ever do the GiTS 20 finger typing thing?

What's your current thoughts on Clip Studio vs Photoshop for your future workflow, if you don't mind my asking? Deal with the text issues in Clip Studio? Try to leave the Photoshop-only parts until the end and deal with Clip Studio's wonky PSD exports? Or something else?

Right now I’m doing all my text editing and blocking in Photoshop, then all the actual art in clip studio, then I’m putting it back in PS for any final touches. It’s a little convoluted, but we’ll see

I really wish Clip Studio had a better Photoshop export solution (or someone would make a Photoshop plugin to take .clips well), because I have a couple of friends with Photoshop-heavy processes that would definitely enjoy Clip Studio for all the painterly bits. I'm lucky enough to just be a sketch doodler, but if you're doing anything... 'generated', let's say, it's a pain.

Yeah I’m fortunate in that I hand letter and don’t really rely on anything vector-generated. Part of the reason I want to move away from PS

Also even if it were even more convoluted, the perspective ruler tools are just so useful for doing cityscapes that it would still be worth it.
