Yeah! Wayyy back in DS #97, the Morningstar says that, aside from Belphegor (who's the recruiter), none of the Dark Scientists are allowed to know each others' identities. But then in the following page Vonnie's spy (which she deployed in Asmodea's house in DS #83) inadvertently discovered Asmodea was a Dark Scientist.

Like with Thomas Caspar, whose identity was made public in his fight with Kim, revealing your identity to anyone ends in erasure and replacement. So Vonnie and Asmodea #1 are pretty much stuck together as conspirators and have to keep up the act that they don't know each others' identities as Leviathan and Volo. If Dresden Codak was popular enough to have its own wiki, I bet that would help...

Life has a weird way of sucker punching you. I was a huge fan of this comic years ago, and just rediscovered it today. I have seen so many beautiful stories lost over the years. Comics were left unfinished as the artist's life went in a different direction or, sadly, ended. It was such a feeling of relief to know that this wonderful, rich story is still being told. I also felt, in that moment, a painful nostalgia for the person I was 12 years ago reading this comic before, and how that person is almost lost to me. In a way, coming back to this comic has brought a little of my old self back to me. I think I needed that. Thank you, Ms. Diaz, for your years of hard work and creativity. I will eagerly await each new issue

My guess would be that if a Dark Scientist can gain power by erasing things from the timeline, maybe they can Highlander each other and so the enforced anonymity is a measure to prevent that?

Rereading this page, I'm struck that Asmodea is likely to be in a love triangle with Kim and Vonnie aping the same relationship between Fredersen/Rotwang/Hel in Metropolis. I'd be surprised if the Asmodeas don't merge in the future to solidify the issue, and Kim is both Rotwang and Dark Maria already - why not pick up Joh, too?
