“Daddy!”

“Xarot!”

“Daddy!”

“Xarot!”

“Daddy!” Xarot cried, reaching out his arms, the boy squealing and cackling with such delight, for with little Xarot, he could go on forever, for he did not quite understand the passage of time, so he could go on all day and not realise it, so his father surrendered, and the two embraced one another.

“What? Did you think I forgot about you, my boy?”

“Daddy!”

Adam planted a firm kiss on his son’s cheek, only to be assaulted in return, and he had wished to devour his son, for he was so cute, but there were others who wished to spoil him, as the two year old was soon engulfed by his elder siblings, the triplets each hugging and kissing him, handing their gifts.

“Kaka! Kaka! Papa! Kaka! Papa! Papa! Kaka!” the boy called, greeting each one as they greeted him and handed their gifts over to him.

“Stop it!” Lanarot sniffled. “Who gave you permission to grow up?”

Jurot turned his head, trying to calm his heart, for he could not break, if he did, he wasn’t sure Lanarot would appreciate it.

“You are so big now, Xarot…” Konarot said, her tail swaying behind her as she held her brother, barely able to lift him, though partly because he was so well fed.

“Kaka…”

Kirot and Karot, too, held the boy, while Jirot awaited her turn, and once it was her turn, she hugged him so tight. The girl turned away.

“Xarot, you think you are a big boy now? You are still only two years old. When you are five, then you can act like a big boy, okay?”

“Okeh!”

“My papa! He listens so well!” Jirot half exclaimed, hugging the boy tightly within her arms.

‘She already did that bit with Monarot…’ Adam thought, but he did not speak up, because he, too, only had one joke.

Little Jarot hugged the boy tight, and the two laughed together, exchanging kisses on their noses.

Larot handed the boy a ribbon, and ruffled his hair lightly, while Virot charged her youngest brother, picking him up, with a huff.

“My papa! Okay?”

“Kaka!”

“Okay?”

“Okeh!”

Virot then called Damrot with a hand, and allowed him to shower their little brother with affection, and Monarot pouted as she was forced to surrender her ribbon, all the while Pamarot glared at her mother, wondering why she had to wake up so early, and she wished to nap so much.

Vonda finally managed to claim her son once the children were done, holding him within her lap, all the while the Iyrmen around began to shower him with affection. Her eyes swayed to the side, and she found her husband smiling.

“Virot, sit next to daddy,” Jirot called.

“Okay!” Virot declared, rushing over to sit on her father’s lap. “Milk peas!”

“Okay…”

As the old Jarot showered his greatson in affection, he was saved by his elder sister, who defeated their babo so easily. She held her brother, who stared up at her so adoringly, and the girl glanced away, but was unable to resist his adoration.

“Hooow can you see intooo my eeeyes, like ooopen dooors?” Jirot sang to her brother, planting a firm kiss on his cheek.

Adam closed his eyes tight, doing his best not to laugh.

“Leading you dooown intooo my cooore, where I’ve become so numb!” The girl began to sway with her brother within her arms. “I can’t feel you there! Become so tired! So much more aware!”

Xarot cackled excitedly, clapping his hands together, staring up at his sister, who peppered him with kisses.

“If you wish to hear more, you must ask daddy.”

Adam stared at his daughter and son, holding Virot within his arm, slowly curling her, with some effort, though he was mostly healed.

“I turn my back for one minute.” Jirot held up her fingers. “Daddy, which song is best at this time?”

“Eye of the Tiger?”

“It’s the…” Jirot tilted her head. She pouted. “No. It is not the right song.”

“Crawling?”

Jirot inhaled deeply. “Crawwwling in my skiiin, these wounds they will not heeeaaal! It is a bit scary, daddy…”

“You pay attention to the lyrics?”

“Yes.”

“I probably shouldn’t sing Outkast then…” Adam looked to Jurot, who understand that though he didn’t understand it, it was a great reference.

“Daddy, what is your favourite song?”

“Oh? My favourite song?” Adam thought hard as he held his daughter upon his lap, the girl clutching his collars tight. “I don’t know.”

“I think mine is The Chariots Fall,” Jirot said, holding Xarot within her arms, the boy half wrapped around her. “I am going to learn to play it on the sitar.”

“Who is going to teach you.”

“Ahm Dunes?”

“Just because ahm Dunes is from Aswadasad, that doesn’t mean he knows how to play the sitar.” Adam turned his head, waiting for Dunes to prove him wrong.

“I do not know it.”

“I set it up so well, too.”

“You did, daddy. Nice try.” Jirot nodded her head, with the understanding what her father was trying to do, for he was a genius in this way.

“What?” Dunes asked.

“It is called subverting expectations.”

“What?”

“It is called a meme, ahm,” Jirot replied, placing down her brother. “Gets the people going.”

Adam was so glad he did not teach her what that was the intro to, though his laughter betrayed his words, and Dunes eyed him up. Eventually, however, he was allowed to cast his magics for the boy, who squealed excitedly at the lights.

Dunes smiled, and pinched Xarot’s cheeks, and the boy clasped his wrist, cackling as he caught his ahm, who was like his papo, but was called his ahm.

Adam wondered what else he should speak to his children about, and as he looked down at his son, two years old was he, he considered how they had treated him when he was two years old. ‘I guess it’s just a birthday party?’

However, as Xarot had turned two, Vonda considered when she should mention the various rites she would like with the children. They would have to do so for the triplets first, though so much had happened around the time they turned five.

‘At the very least, I should pray over them with the Mother’s Blessings…’ Vonda considered.
