EDIT: Okay, based on comments I tried to bump saturation on bruises and take some shading away to highlight them more?

Are the bruises on Edith's neck in the last panel visible enough? I really tried to make them obvious in the moment but now I worry they're still too subtle haha.

Possibly still too subtle; I did not notice. The coughing action overwhelms the bruises in terms of the information conveyed, so I think it needs something to specifically call it out if you want people to notice them immediately. Might want to add them to the third panel of page 124, too, if there's no good story reason not to. If the bruises are here so that people can look back at this page later on and say, "Hey, the bruises _were_ there the whole time!" then I think this is fine.

I'd just taken the 'bruises' for shadow from the collar and throat structure, on a glance rather than close inspection. Didn't make the connection with the coughing at all until I saw the next page of Heru wrestling the spell's invisible snake form.

I did not notice them :(

I noticed the bruises before reading the author text. I also like leaving li’l treats like that for the observant. Keep ‘em as they are.

I don’t think they’re too subtle, but that’s just me.

Bruises look good with the update, comparing it with the preview in my email. I think with this level of saturation you can put the shadow back on since part of the bruise is in the light.

Very serpentine.

I noticed them the entire time. I quite like this version, though.

I didn’t notice them either - I also wonder if you could up the saturation/brightness to the point of non-realism to sliiightly echo the colour palette of the water in the Duat that’s going on in her head right now? Idk if that breaks any internal style guide / world rules but from a visual perspective it could be cool

Definitely noticed the bruises this time......poor Edith

saw the bruises the entire time. I appreciate the wet fur effect on Set's muzzle

Not too subtle for me. The eye is drawn to the Koff, once there her bruises are hard to miss (imo)

excellent detail

I love the hairy muzzle with blood on the lower fur. Plus, the serpentine marks are so subtle I only noticed them on this page. I had to flip back to the others and there they are. No matter at all, NOW they are visible. Even more so because her coughing makes her neck contract and hence highlights them.

Updated version is fine: I would still have missed the bruise until seeing the snake, looking back for clues and then be all: Argh! It was so obvious!! :)
