Let’s make a mini comic (Patreon)

Hey, here's a thing! Today I began work on a short story I'll be putting out for Vancaf! As I'm working on it over the next few weeks, I'll post pages and updates!

The plans is a 12-page short about some ghost hunters in a Cabin In The Woods. It'd be just long enough to establish the characters, two guys who operate the equipment and handle clients, and a 15-year-old girl name Anna who can actually see and speak to spirits.

I knew I wanted something in a forest, because as much as I love ghosts- I wanted to play with the idea of an earthly unnatural spirit. Something a bit more eldritch in nature. Also forests are easier/ more fun to draw than haunted house interiors~

The main girl, Anna. If you've gone through the archives of my patreon posts, you might recognize her!

She's from a graphic novel submission I was pitching around for awhile. It would be the origin story of how she and the guys met. As much as I'd still like to tell that story, I also really wanna play with these episodic snippets into cases with them! I think it'll also help me get a better feel with the characters actually doing some stories with them.

Here's the first set of thumbnails/ basic script. I'm kind of just figuring out panel layouts and how I want to pace the story.

And here are the layouts! Still pretty messy- but as I'm the only one figuring out the scrawls it shouldn't be an issue! Story is pretty basic: Anna wakes up from weird dream, goes downstairs to talk with the boys, Liam and Kent- they establish the reason why they're in the cabin and what they've gotten on recordings. Anna takes a walk into the woods, starts seeing strange things and comes upon strange being. But before she can get better look- Liam snaps her out of it- and she's told she's been missing for 6 hours. The being vanishes, and they leave the forest.I'll be able to start on pages next week, update then!
