Dec 28 - A month in review/ 2021 (Patreon)

Hey everyone! It’s been a crazy month, and I’m sure I’m not the only one who feels that way. We’ve got some stuff to catch upon, and to look forward to!

Journal Comics

First off: our month of journal comics is nearly over!

December is always a weird month to record. There’s all the holiday rush, weird end of year deadlines and thinking about the new year. This year obviously had a lot on top of that. I usually try to keep the comics light and focused on projects/general concerns, only because I don’t enjoy getting very personal. And I know a lot of people (myself included) enjoy escapism and might not want to read about someone else’s problems when they have their own.

This year it felt dishonest to not get a little personal- I hope that was okay!

Burn Out

You might have noticed there were no art streams this month. Not from lack of wanting! More just lack of mental bandwidth. Pandemic burn out hit again and I didn’t have the energy to plan or promote.. anything this month! I was on a colouring deadline and basically had just enough energy for that and Godslave during the day.

Thankfully, I got to take a week off for the holidays and I’m feeling very refreshed. I hope you all got to take some time off as well!

January

We all have high (not terrible)hopes for next year, but I’d like to focus on next month for now. Art streams will be back, so we’ll be looking for some fun themes! The Struggle Stream with gouache was a lot of fun, and I’d like to try that again: this time with manga screen tones!

I was also thinking of a New Year’s Resolution stream for Godslave characters! Next post I’ll put up dates and some polls for ideas ^^
