March 02 - Literary Agent, and a ✨special godslave project✨ (Patreon)

Hey everyone! Last time we spoke, I was coming out of some pretty terrible burn out. Now that the colouring deadline is long past, I’ve been feeling a lot better. I’ve been able to start updating Godslave 2x a week again, and we’re getting back into the swing of live streams!

Teaching 2 classes online has taken up a lot of my time and some of the class prep has bled into my weekends, which isn’t great. I’m hoping this month I have a better handle on scheduling.

The biggest news I have since last month, is I now have a literary agent! For those unfamiliar, a literary agent has a few functions. They can negotiate better contracts for you, get you into publishers that don’t normally take submissions, and market you as a client for relevant illustration work!

Since November I’ve been querying agents through Manuscript Wishlist, with the EXORCISM graphic novel. Renae responded really well with the story and my work, and is now helping me out with its next steps! I’ll talk more about that process on an EXORCISM blog this Friday!

If you follow me online, no doubt you’ve seen me hollering about Girl Haven’s release! Girl Haven is now in book and comic stores, and Lilah and I couldn’t be more delighted. I’ve been hard at work doing promo, with panels and social media posts. Our hope is we’ll be greenlit for a sequel!

Our livestream last week was Monster Themed! I loved seeing your guys’ suggestions, and this was a very fun experiment! Here are the other 2 we worked on on Instagram live!

Thanks again for the suggestions! I’m likely gonna release a poll this week to gauge what time/day works best for live streams for everyone! I would love to know what time is most convenient for ya’ll to watch a live stream.

That being said, the theme of our next few live streams has been decided already. It started with a silly art prompt.

That I got really into

Like... really into

I don’t know if it’s come up but I... love sports anime?? Especially haikyuu. And I’ve been trying to come up with a short project I could do this year.

So we’re gonna make a Godslave Sports Anime AU mini. It’ll likely be a zine with a mix of art and short comics, and I’m gonna work on it during the livestreams until completion! When it’s finished, I’ll post the whole PDF on Patreon and offer it in the Godslave hivemill store.

Let me know your thoughts! Who should be the coaches, what role should Set play in the story? Are any of you volleyball players?

Talk to you soon!
