I see a lot of flat surfaces. Why not use like a tiny automatic sander?

I wish it was that easy! The reason is because the machine will damage the fine details. You can also accidently change the shape from heat rubbing (it's plastic) depending on the thickness. In that case, lot of details and lot of thin pieces.
