Bad Company game this Saturday (Patreon)
Content
This weekend we'll be playing a Bad Company game. You probably own it.
We will be running a competitive multiplayer game of Minecraft.
WAIT!
COME BACK!
We're playing with nukes.
Here's how it works.
All players will be divided into equal teams (likely to be 2s or 3s). The game will start out in creative mode.
When the game begins each team will set off in a different direction with 60 minutes available to build a base and prepare for war. Once the 60 minute mark has been passed the battle commences. You will need to hunt down the other team's bases and destroy their "flag" using the ICBMs you will have created during the hour-long build phase.
Last team standing wins.
Okay, so there are a few more rules...
1. Your flag will be 3 blocks of obsidian placed vertically with one glass block underneath. The flag must be placed above ground - the glass block should be at ground level. You may attempt to camouflage it however it should have a radius of 3 blocks in every direction that are lower than the flag itself. When the glass block is gone, you're out.
2. No other obsidian may be used.
3. All respawn points should be set to the start area. If you die at any point you will be allowed to return to the war as long as your flag is still supported (ie it has at least one block directly underneath it.)
4. You are allowed to enter the base of other teams however you may not place or remove any blocks while in the base. This includes removing items from chests. This also extends to anything above the base - so blocking missile launch tubes or interfering with solar arrays is a no-no.
5. PVP is allowed everywhere.
6. You may create as much extra material as you like during creative mode. Including missiles, food, weapons and more. Yes, you can store this in chests. Missiles are inaccurate and might not achieve their goal quickly, so you'll want a lot of missiles.
7. You are not permitted to use tier 4 (Antimatter or Redmatter) missiles as they're game-enders and dull. You also cannot use Rejuvenation missile (it insta-kills bases).
8. You may only create 3 Tier 3 (Nuclear cluster, endothermic, EMP) missiles. Use them wisely.
9. Don't spawn camp or repeatedly kill people in their own base. You got them once, move on. This is the "keep it fun" rule. Nobody enjoys being ganked.
10. Sentry guns are allowed. Force fields are not.
11. During the build phase everyone will use separate Discord channels. During the war we'll all be in one channel. Yes - if you yell co-ordinates over the group channel everyone can fire on it.
12. Once you're dead you can re-enable creative mode so you can fly and watch the fireworks.
13. You may not use a mod that shows player names on the map.
14. No nuking the spawn area, you lowlife.
Tips
I've played this before with my kids on numerous occasions and it is hilarious. You've not lived until you've seen a dozen or more missiles streaking overhead, or had a direct hit on your main missile store (that gets EXCITING).
We'll try to ensure there is one engineer who knows how to make missile systems and one PVP fan on each team. Even if you've not played it before, the missile system is fairly straightforward, I'll give a quick walkthrough at the start of the game.
Make sure everyone on the team has a fully charged radar gun. It's worth having spares. It's also worth having some power storage.
Be aware of other players following you back to base.
Power arrays are important. Hide them.
If you're only firing one missile at a time, you'll lose.
You will want food and milk. Potions don't hurt.
Every missile type has its uses.
Ready?
To get the mod you will need the Technic Launcher
We're running the Voltz mod and nothing else.
Sign in below if you want to play. We'll meet on the server from 19:00 BST on Saturday and play until we're bored. Late joiners are welcome. Everyone is invited to stream. Stream snipers are not welcome. Watch the streams of other teams, but don't use it to cheat - winning really isn't important.
