Tuesday. Good.

While I contemplate what angle of attack to take with this month's Reduced, and look at the footage I've captured for my first premium-edit Farm Sim video - I've got 2 hours 15 recorded with no commentary, it'll end up being 12-18 minutes of curated, well-paced, occasionally snorth-worthy nonsense - I thought I'd give you a quick State of the Nation of Fail Brigade.

No, you didn't ask for it, but you're getting it anyway. This of course leaves me to ponder whether more people read these typed missives than watch Reduced - to put it another way, would video format work better? Well, the written version should be slightly more coherent although as I get older I find myself increasingly prone to muscle-memory typos where, rather than just mistyping a word you instead substitute it for something simile. Either way, with some editing the written form should carry better detail with less likelihood of repetition. I digress.

I am mid-way through an overhaul of the Fail Brigade service menu. I've reworked the Discord server so that you can opt-in to different sections of the vast and sprawling hotel of rooms. The only bit that is still to do is allowing you to create your own chat/game rooms on the fly. I'll get to it. Just give me a [insert indeterminate amount of time].

Also coming as part of the overhaul will be some fresh trailers for Fail Brigade, since the one right now is the original. Why yes, it is a little out of date, I agree, that's why I need a new one, but I don't want to half-ass it which is why I haven't done it yet. It'll be done by [insert non-committal date at some point in the future].

Right, that's that out of the way. Let's get to some golden opportunities for you to be a part of something.

Sportsball! The American Football manager game that various Fail Brigaders have played over the past 4+ years has an opening for a new manager. If you'd like to know more or are interested please head to the Sportsball channel on Discord (visit the Remote Control channel to opt-in).

Baseball! The annual draft of new players will be underway in [insert number] weeks. You don't need the game to take part, instead you'll get to be at the helm of one of the teams, choosing which players will make up their roster next season. Visit the Electrosports channel to find out more (visit the Remote Control channel to opt-in). A side note here is that I've started detailing some of the Electrosports projects I'm working on in a blog-ish fashion on Discord. When I finish my website I'll condense these to provide a highlights package. It's almost interesting!

Roleplayers! We're looking to set up a few regular virtual tabletop RPGs via Discord. We've a goodly bunch of players but are lacking GMs. If you're a player or a GM please visit the Tabletop channel on Discord (opt in to Let's Play from Remote Control). No, it won't just be bloody Dungeons and Dragons. Also worth noting here is that [at some point in the future] I'm planning to run a series of games on video that'll involve a *lot* of players. You can be part of the horde - but I'll be inviting people from the Tabletop group first.

That's it for now.

The Electrosports Projects section of Discord is going to be replicated for all CF projects pretty soon. I've got quite a few interesting odds and ends I'm working on, I just need to focus on getting them underway in a coherent fashion.

That's it for now.

Yes, it really is this time. No more post-scripting.

For what it's worth, I like text over video. Video requires me to stop whatever other video is running and queue the update appropriately. Text I can read as other things are baking and playing in the background.

Text and video alternating keeps it fresh(er) for me. I could not multitask like Jeffrey here describes.

Quite like the text. Enjoy having something to read while sitting having my lunch at work.

The advantage of text over video is you can rapidly look for what you're seeking if you're short on time. The video analog of that would be adding chapters to Reduced.
