This notion has been kicked around for a year or two, but I'm considering a Failcon Weekender for later this year (somewhere in the July-October window is most likely).

What would it entail?

Well, depending on the number of interested people I'll rent a conference facility - probably in a hotel somewhere I can get to easily, where I can secure some preferential room rates - and there'll be a weekend of frivolity for anyone who wants to come along.

The frivolity would include:

Schedule of tabletop/boardgames

Electrosports events

Colonel Failure Records a Video With a Live Studio Audience

Some sort of live Q&A if anyone cares

Live stream live (maybe horse racing with a live fake money bookie who will probably be named Jake, almost certainly bingo, potentially a pub quiz)

More  There will be a small (ish) ticket price attached to cover costs.

Such an event will be open to the masses, but I'm asking you fine Fail Brigaders if this is something you might find appealing. This is a non-committal poll, but please give a genuine answer (especially if it's an near definite no). Also, if you're a Brigade member on both YouTube and Patreon, please only vote in one of the polls.

Obliged,

-CF

Traveling in the UK during the first week of June, in case an accelerated schedule is a possibility... :)

Yaaaassss!! Colonel if you need any help organizing all the logistics, I’m happy to lend a hand.

Gaveup

Coming from the US East coast, I would be happy to attend!!!

PlasticVicar

Definitely interested and as stated on Discord, I would be willing to run some RPG one-shots for small-ish groups

Tez Blanshard

If you go for October, that'll be great, gives me 6 months to save

@JeepsonTrading

Sounds fun in theory and I'm optimistic it will work so long as the mentally mature audience attends. A group of around 20 to 30 would be perfect for the first go at it imo

Arjun G

Not much of a tabletop/board game person but would definitely be up for horse racing, bingo, and quiz

Andrew Shugg

The thought of a Colonel Failure video with a live audience is, frankly, quite wonderful. Like a Saturday Social Club stream but being able to hear the rabble!

Devin Clancy

I'll have to wait for the North American tour.

Scott Baron

Much as I'd love to, I'm in the States and my travel budget is slim this year.

UncleDrax

Voted No but figured I'd provide a more verbose answer, as I'm assuming this will bein in the UK and the travel for me from across the pond would likely be a deal breaker. If I was more local, then I'd definitely lean towards 'yes'.

MadCat256

I voted "Yes but It's Complicated." I also live in the states so it would depend greatly on the price of travel and whether I can locate my passport...

Scott Buck

I would pay for a virtual ticket type thingy since travel from the US is prohibitive, and I already double dip with patron and youtube.

Wimpie

I’d love to, but I got a bit of a slim wallet for these kinds of things right now. Then again, if it goes through and I can afford travel and stay in the UK I’d love to visit. Time will tell :)

Kett

I would absolutely attend a Failcon event! The idea of being able to find like-minded people in person to try out a variety of board games and TTRPGs would be great, especially if it meant the possibility of continuing online over discord etc. Having a virtual ticket available for those whom are unable to travel would be advantageous too. Allowing them to join in the Q&A sessions, perhaps even the bingo or other such games like a pub quiz that can be held live and in person. All of this is equipment permitting of course. We all know what technology is like. Overall, definitely something I would look forward to attending should it become a reality!

The Skipper

I'm interested, but living in the U.S., my wallet says "not a chance".
