โค๏ธ Hi beloved Patrons,

Before we fully adjust how we prepare our model cuts, we would like to hear your thoughts.

We are considering focusing more on larger resin printer build plates, around the size of printers like the Elegoo Saturn series, instead of always making cuts that fit very small printers.

This would help us:

๐Ÿ”ธ Improve productivity
๐Ÿ”ธ Reduce unnecessary cutting
๐Ÿ”ธ Maintain better quality in the models we create

However, we also want to understand what printers our patrons are currently using.

Your feedback will help us make better decisions moving forward. ๐Ÿ’–

Squintyharpy

Yes bigger pieces for Saturn size plates!

Scateno 93

Yes saturn is perfect size

Shane

Good idea

Shane

My Jupiter SE and Jupiter 2 would be very appreciative

Eyal Diskin

So people with smaller printers wouldn't be able to print stuff?

Feentochter

Bigger would be great, could always scale down if needed

Ernixor

I filled in the form, but I guess I'm one of the few who are FDM printing.

Ugene Findley

I use mostly my Mars series printers. I do own Saturns, but they tend to get used less since they have a higher print failure rate for myself personally.

Crow

This is what I'm wondering.

Nomnom Figures

some parts are printable but scaling them down will be the best solution to print the base parts. ( if ever we proceed )

Ugene Findley

But I also do know how to use blender enough to make further cuts if needed at my own risk

Florent Lenoir

In my opinion, splitting a model isn't just a matter of printer capacity, it's about final print quality. For highly detailed and textured models, maximizing the number of cuts is ideal. It allows for optimal part orientation, minimizing support marks on textures and significantly improving the overall print quality.

Alan Dobson

The problem with scaling down is the presupported files become unusable and people who are not good at adding manual supports will just get shitty quality prints. All my Patreon memberships are Merchant level. If I have to start jigging about resizing and adding supports myself it rapidly moves into the realms of diminishing returns.

Xaphos

Chitubox has a cut/key feature. Its what I use when parts won't fit on my mars 5. Its take a bit of time, and the presupported files aren't usable, but again, chitubox is awesome and can autogenerate supports.

Tony Maiocco

I have a Saturn 4 and I think that would be great. If the figures were larger I think would make them easier to assemble.

Alan Dobson

Just so I am clear. Are you proposing making the actual individual models bigger for example 1/9 instead of 1/10 or are you proposing making the models the same size, just with less, but larger, individual parts?

Alan Dobson

All of which would increase my handling time by an unacceptable amount. Mostly I print for sale, not for fun.

CurtisWurtus

Funny I had the opposite experience: I can't remember the last time I recalibrated my Saturn ๐Ÿ˜‚. Might want to spend some time figuring that out cuz Mars is tiny

CurtisWurtus

I don't know what I'm missing but these printers are pretty cheap for like Saturn series and stuff: is it like a space constraint? I'm just confused why anyone would use a Mars if they're trying to print larger figures like one sixth scale or bigger? This is the only patreon I've seen that tries to accommodate small printers: everyone else uses Saturn as the minimum printer size standard.

Nomnom Figures

Thanks for taking time on anwering the survey. We will gather all answers and see what we can do for our future releases. Awesome teamwork!

Gem

Apparently I'm a rarity too with my A1 mini. Resin printers aren't really any good for families with kids ๐Ÿ˜ž

Abi Kira

Glad to hear it! ๐Ÿ˜Š Thanks for taking part in the survey. โค๏ธ

Abi Kira

Thank you for filling it out! ๐Ÿ˜Š FDM users matter too, and we're happy to hear your perspective. โค๏ธ

Abi Kira

Thanks for the feedback! ๐Ÿ˜Š

Abi Kira

your Jupiter printers are definitely ready for bigger pieces! ๐Ÿ˜†โค๏ธ noted on this.

Abi Kira

Thank you for the feedback!

Abi Kira

It's always interesting how different everyone's printing experience can be. ๐Ÿ˜„ Thanks for sharing your setups and feedback! โค๏ธ

Abi Kira

Thank you! ๐Ÿ˜Š

Abi Kira

We're still gathering feedback at the moment. ๐Ÿ˜Š No final decisions have been made yet. โค๏ธ

Abi Kira

We appreciate the support. โค๏ธ but no decisions have been made yet.

Thanks for the feedback! ๐Ÿ˜Š โค๏ธ

Abi Kira

At the moment we're simply gathering feedback from the community. ๐Ÿ˜Š and we can see what we can do next.

Abi Kira

Thanks for sharing your printer setup. โค๏ธ

Abi Kira

Thank you for sharing and the feedback! ๐Ÿ˜Š

Goddi Lynn

I'm probably also one of the few people who own an FDM printer (Bambu P2S). On the one hand, I'm new to this hobby, and on the other, I have a great deal of respect for resin printers.

Abi Kira

Thanks for sharing! ๐Ÿ˜Š definitely not alone. It's been really interesting seeing the mix of FDM and resin printer users in the community. โค๏ธ

Abi Kira

thank you for sharing the feedback!

Kyle Power

Saturn size is great. Its not hard to resize by 5-10% on my slightly smaller print bed.

Ben Crompton

The Saturn printer is pretty standard in terms of side and accessibility so thatโ€™s a good idea. Is it so bad to have the user scale up or down the models in the slicer? I did this with your Vincent Valentine and Jenova models and they turned out perfectly. In terms of cutting though, and youโ€™re already doing this for the most part, but any magical or potentially transparent objects in your models Iโ€™d love to keep specifically separate so I can print these pieces in transparent resin. So far though Iโ€™ve been extremely satisfied with your models and have bought a number of them. Looking forward to whatโ€™s in store.

Abi Kira

Thanks so much for taking the time to share your thoughts! ๐Ÿ˜Š we really appreciate everyone sharing their experiences and suggestions. They help us a lot as we explore future improvements! ๐Ÿ˜Šappreciate you!

Abi Kira

Thanks for sharing your feedback! ๐Ÿ˜Š It's great to hear resizing has worked well for you. comments like yours are really helpful. โค๏ธ
