The Sex Lives of College Girls (Cassunzel Redraw) | Full Piece, Process, PSD (Patreon)

I've been taking a random interest in Ruby Cruz lately and I can't help but imagine her as irl Cass, ever since my silly live action Cass fancast game on my Instagram stories some time ago. Imo she looks like a young Mary Elizabeth Winstead and I always pictured Mary as Cass although Mary is in her 40s, so Ruby Cruz really fits the bill for me. One day I was looking her up on twt and discovered her in this clip of The Sex Lives of College Girls with this blonde girl and IMMEDIATELY pictured cassunzel and that's what inspired this drawing :) also the amount of people fancasting her as genderbent Flynn/Eugene (which was a huge thing before) made me pissed so this was done out of spite lol

I also put some very small details of cat imagery (in the patterns of Rapunzel's sweater and the pin on Cass's collar) as references to Mitski's newest album Nothing's About to Happen to Me and its symbolism of cats on the cover and throughout the album. Mitski songs have always been a huge staple in so many cassunzel playlists I listen to. Lightning is my favorite song of the new album but Cats is a close second. I love this album a lot, maybe one of her best in years, and I'm so freaking excited to finally see Mitski in concert soon thanks to an awesome mutual of mine who sold her ticket to me hehe
