My favorite political vlogger, Sargon of Akkad, has been banned from Patreon. So, I will be leaving Patreon in protest of this. Please let me know where else I can continue to support you on, because I will NOT BE BULLIED by people in California any longer. EVERYTHING is racism, homophobia, etc. to them. And, I CANNOT STAND IT. Again, love your work, but I won't support a platform that bullies people and tries to control our thoughts, I WILL TAKE MY MONEY SOMEWHERE ELSE.

Ace McGuire

Again, PLEASE, PLEASE let me know. I don't regularly check Patreon, but I will try to check back here often, so that all of those whom I support can message me back with alternative details for support. I don't want to bore you with politics since you're probably not interested, but I just can't stand what they do to us. I won't give these people my money any longer.

Thank you so much for telling me about this Michael, I completely understand your conflict and I'm so glad that you're taking a stand to support your favourite vlogger! If you'd like to continue to support me, you can send one-off donations via my Ko-Fi account, however you won't receive the tiered rewards: https://ko-fi.com/A0A460MF If you'd like to continue with you $5 pledge and still be able to access the Discord, you can also buy a subscription to my Twitch channel. I'm currently on hiatus on Twitch, but hope to return in the new year: https://www.twitch.tv/stephanieswanquills/ All the best to you! I hope Sargon is able to return to Patreon soon!

Thanks. I had to resubscribe in order to see these messages. I have the tabs open. It looks like Carl Benjamin (Sargon of Akkad) isn't coming back. He didn't violate Patreon's TOS, but he's being banned anyways.

Ace McGuire

What happened is Carl Benjamin, on someone else's channel who was not on Patreon, called white supremacists white n-words, but he clarified by saying that how they THINK black people behave is how they were behaving. And, mind you, this is after white nationalists had started harassing him in real life.

Ace McGuire

Carl Benjamin isn't a white nationalist, nor is he a "proponent of hate speech". He is against white nationalism, but, sadly, too many powerful people continue to call him that. He does make fun of social justice warriors, and talks about how the "far Left" (for lack of a better term) have institutional power and are abusing it. Patreon proves Carl Benjamin right by banning him, even though he didn't violate the rules.

Ace McGuire

And, because of what happened to Carl Benjamin, a mass Exodus occurred on Patreon, and many people (both creators and patrons) have moved to SubscribeStar. But, PayPal has refused to work with Subscribe Star, AFTER the mass Exodus. They were fine with Subscribe Star all until after Sargon of Akkad was banned.

Ace McGuire

Patreon CEO Jack Conte said that he's friends with other CEO's of tech giants. He said that they work together. It looks like PayPal has dropped Subscribe Star because they're trying to cut off all of Carl Benjamin's income.
