I always love episodes like this even if they are tropey. This episode always makes me think of Stargate's SG-1 version of this Collateral Damage

It's probably just me , but the dog identification at the end felt Scooby like, and I don't entirely mean that in a bad way ... ¿

As inventive as the "punishment method" is I feel like you'd get used to it in a few weeks. This episode was directed by LeVar Burton and they actually shot the memories on black-and-white film. Another fun fact - the city painting used in the transitions to Banea was recently seen in DS9 episode "Dax" (and previously in several episodes of TNG)

it is kind of weird to me that the Numuri could just attack a ship in orbit around their enemy home world. do the Baneans even have an army?

I like the nod to "Columbo" with Tuvok's investigation style, but the mystery wasn't much of one and why was the ship making a pitstop in an active war zone? That doesn't seem like a wise choice, regardless of what they may have to offer you

late here but every sci fi show has done this episode to some degree, the earliest I can remember was tos when scotty is framed by jack the ripper who is an alien.
