Yeah I get it this show is pretty forgettable so much so I thought you were going to the Loki series next. Also in all honesty I couldn't even get through the 1st episode of this show so I skipped it.

Firefly24601

I keep calling it The Falcon and the Snowman, even though I've never seen that movie.

Time Lord

I hope that maybe watching it alongside with us will make it more enjoyable for you!! We wanted to make sure that we reacted to all of the shows in the way that they released. So Loki is absolutely next on the list!!

Luck Dragon's Lair

It gets better but the first episode was a big change from the feel of WandaVision so it was a major adjustment :) It's definitely one I enjoyed less but it gets better as you get to know the tone to expect. :)

Firefly24601

I love love LOVE that Marvel is discussing all the issues brought up in this series. But the overall format just... fell flat for me.

Alisa Loudner

I think this is a great show but the tone was such a drastic change from WandaVision that it left people a little let down and bored. Sad really because Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan deserve their time to shine.

Alisa Loudner

I think they should have changed the order. Done Loki then What If before Falcon and Winter Soldier, Hawkeye. The first 2 aren't really in the timeline so it wouldn't have been a big deal to release them before the last two. It would have let people adjust to the different tones.

Its hard not to do it, but comparing The Falcon And The Winter Soldier with WandaVision because they're both Marvel comic book properties is a bit like comparing Doctor Who and Star Trek because they're both long-running sci-fi franchises. While the various Marvel movies, and particularly now the tv shows, have common elements to them, individual elements often fall into different genres as intentional production choices, and that's highlighted between these two shows. I think its really unfortunate that a show like this followed a very unique show like WandaVision that did a lot of interesting things either never done before or at least very rarely done like different tv styles every episode, and combining a comedic surface with the darker, ominous mystery undercurrent slowly being developed and exposed over the series. Without giving away anything too quickly, comparing the first episodes of each, this looks a lot more straight forward: in WV we had two characters we already knew - one of whom was supposed to be dead - but in a really weird scenario where we couldn't really work out what was going on, how they got there and what was going to happen, presented in black and white and seemed like everything was great but with a sinister vibe near the end, whereas in F&WS we've got two characters we know, clearly continuing from where we last saw them with some exposition about what's gone on in the mean time and a little extra backstory thrown in as well, as well as establishing some mysterious bad guys that we don't know a lot about. You could say that both first episodes present mysteries, but that presentation is wildly different. I'm really curious how the reactions will go.

Nicole Mazza

Yeah, I feel the same. I really like a lot of what it was trying to do, it just didn't click for me. 🤷‍♀️

WandaVision was breakfast for dinner. FatWS is the meat and potatoes of Marvel storytelling. Even when it's focusing on a person it's clearly about "people"/society/etc. Still, there are some absolutely joyous moments coming up in this show that I can't wait to see y'all react to! I do love a good jurisdictional dispute!

The funny thing is back when I watched this the first time, I kept thinking the old guy's murdered son looked REALLY familiar. And then I looked him up and found that he was the Japanese 'Doctor' in the old 'Japanese Doctor Who' fan-made video that was a bit viral and making the rounds a few years ago (yep, my inner-Whovian is showing!). It's pretty fun, if you ever want to see it. Not official, but done in the style of 70s Japanese SciFi, so I kinda love it for that! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eak26ohx1Y8

Also, somehow I watched this whole series and had never looked up Wyatt Russell (the guy playing the new Captain America) until recently. AND I HAD NO IDEA HE WAS KURT RUSSELL AND GOLDIE HAWN'S KID! OMG! (And once you see know that, you can TOTALLY see how much he looks like Kurt)

Amanda Logsdon

Havent seen this one, i skipped loki and this one for no reason just timing. Im excited to watch it though

Mark Ten

Wyatt Russell was in the running to play Cap and lost out to Chris Evans, so this is a kind of back handed slap to the character. You can just look at the way he was introduced to know that he isnt going to do that suit or shield proud.

Firefly24601

The moment I saw the chin and the eyes, I was like... waaiiiit a minute! *google* Yup!

DarkAshtar

Damn, I had bad luck with this reaction random internet drops twice while watching. Seems to happen a couple times a day lasts for a few minutes then reconnects. Thinking of going with fiber 1 gig/s as it is about the same amount I pay Spectrum every month.

Chrono Gamer

This is actually my personal favorite MCU show, but Steve Rogers was my favorite MCU character. I won't spoil it, but it has some good twists and lots of great action.

FearTheTREMOR

Totally agree. I was dissapointed to see many people not give it the love it deserves. It was so entertaining from start to finish for me. The moral greyness, Sam building up to taking the mantle finally, and understanding what it means to be a black Captain America, and my favorite part of the show.... John fucking Walker 👏
